Something else that I forgot that's kinda important....during the Celtic tiger there were more taxis but insurance was cheap and there was no ten year rule for saloon taxis.

When I started in 2009 I bought a clean 2000 Primera for €1850.Got four years out of it and could have gotten more but changed in 2013 to the Prius to avail of the 15 year rule.

So although there are less of us it's a much more expensive business to be in.

True
I remember buying a old Nissan primera for 1100 and insurance of 1200 in 2007
The old Nissan were great value

So the prik is leaving his car on charge all day...depriving other leccy car owners of a charging point while getting the train(presumably) to Dublin to work for the day?

Be interesting to know exactly what that situation is....buying an expensive leccy car to leave it on charge all day, getting on a not so economic diesel train... and what their daily mileage is,to and from the station..if that's their routine?
Sooo many questions!!!
