London is to introduce them this year .High emission vehicles will be banned or have to pay a charge .I wrote before on Roys a DCC Councillor told me there is a plan to introduce something like this for Dublin AND I AGREE .Banning older Diesels that dont meet the Euro 5 or 6 emissions standard would be a good starting point .As most taxies do meet this standard we shouldnr be really effected ,but if they do decide to introduce it where will it end .Be interesting to see how the Tree hugging mungbean munching bike pedeling sandal wearing craft beer drinking non denominational school supporting voters lend their support to.I heard the Greens and possibly Profit from the People and SF are looking at adopting a policy that all cars licenced after 2025 will need to be hybrid of fully electric .

Prophet before People want us all as hybrids anyway, and SF want the English out of Ireland and everyone else in. Pity the alternatives shagged themselves up with so many divisions before they ever got started.

Lip dont know if its a scam or as a result of environmental or mobile phone radiation but 9% of males under the age of 7 are on the Autism Spectrum .There is no OFFICIAL figures but a good friend who works in the sector and has a non verbal son tells me its becomming a real issue but nobody is championing any sort of inquiry into it .I personally know 4 people who have non verbal Autistic Children ,dont remember any when I was a kid in the 60s or seventies or eighties or ninties ,only seems to have developed along with the boom in Diesel cars and mobile phones .As you have commented about 5G we need to be weary .

Diesel wouldn't do anything to anyone except slowly poison them..........Autism is around a while now I think. I just don't understand why if 5G is safe that the nation who invented it (Israel) has banned it in its own country.

I've a daft theory and my plumber agreed that it's something to do with deteriorating lead pipes in old houses.Recently Irish water dropped in some leaflets around to say that they were replacing all lead connections outside of older properties.The lead inside is the property owner's problem.Some symptoms of the oul autism spectrum are similar to other conditions.Years ago people thought you were just weird now your autistic and probably driving a Renault because ya like feel the seats.

I worked with a bloke in the 70s who had worked in a hotel in Canada and he told me a story about a chef who died and when they done the autopsy they found he had cooked his liver .Turned out he use to stand in front of the Microwave oven when he was reheating food and the deflected radiation cooked him .Now they warn you not to put metal in the oven and use darkened glass on the doors .They tell us Radiation has a half life ot thousands of years but then they create more radiation .Are we overdosing on radiation from power lines and mobile masts ?

Non Verbal kids .I dont remember any kids from when I was young who couldnt talk and it only seems to be boys ,Autism in girls is very rare .

If I had a tablet with Thomas the tank engine for ten hours a day put in front of me I'd never bother speaking either.
The numbers where I live seem all lot higher than average.Some kids are worse than others.Maybe years ago the autistic lads just learned to adapt or got sent somewhere..

Do we just accept stuff without knowing the long term effect .I read a report from Harvard SocialScience Dept .Do you remember the Alien Babies Toys Kids had to keep them in an egg and the Tomagotchi the digital thing you had to interact with to keep alive .Both of them toys were developed in Harvard and Tokyo universities to test human interaction with unknown forces ,The experiment was to see if the Human race could be coerced into supporting the invasion of earth by an Alien Force .Kids willingly embraced the prospect of keeping the jelly aliens alive in the hope they would come alive and older kids were willing to interact with cyber invaders .
Look at Apps this experiment told app developers that Humans will interact with the unknown if they can see a prize at the end of it no matter what potential damage that prize might do to them .

I just think its all smoke and mirrors they tell us one thing but they mean another .The whole diesel gate thing blew up overnight .Back to the Autism thing .The amount of Autistic kids is higher in countries with the highest amount of diesel cars .Its very low in the states where they use petrol .My Great Great Granny was from Cuff Street I often think what a great place to live right in the middle of the City or Kevin Street Ivy Trust best location in the City but can you imagine the dirth of the air around there from car fumes always amuses me the bike peddelers who want to ban the dirty diesels effectivly live in the equivlent to the cities catalitic concerter Stoneybatter and Renelagh must be toxic gas traps .

Merc I havent worked since 16th problem with turbo blowing fumes back into the car ..For years people have committed suicide by exhaust fumes so obviously not great for your health .I wonder how our health is impacted working sitting two or three feet behind an exhaust pipe .A cousin of mine was part of a survey for the Barmans Union ,before the smoking ban he blew into a meter every night after work and when he was off work and they discovered there was an impact from secondry smoke .The deal done with vintners was they accept the smoking ban and the Unions dont sue on behalf of their members .They didny want to sue as they did not want to bankruopt pubs and put their members out of work .

I think a major factor in Autism is the foods we now consume, along with all the extra “waves” we have flying around the place around us.
If you’re at home with the missus, that’s 2 phones connected to the WiFi, laptops, heating controls, Bluetooth headsets, Bluetooth in cars, multiply that by 3 as there is most likely a house either side you with the same.
Going back 30, 40, 50 years an autistic child was probably put in a home, to silently rock back and forward in a chair in the corner all day.

70% of our brains go unused according to the experts...........maybe the autistic males have developed access to the digital part of our cerebral powers? There used to be a guy in the 80's on the old bus out to Arthur Griffith Park who got off outside Lomans...........he had tourettes...ticks and swearing etc but nobody batted an eyelid back then...........people just accepted diversity without it being rammed down their throats.

As I asked in my opening sentence .Seems that the new fiddle is .Since Joan The Moan changed the dole payments for single parents and they get cut off when the kid is seven .Now you get the kid diagnosed as Autistic and you become their carer and keep your payments.

I'm sure there's a teacher married to one or two men here who could conform how difficult it is to get a child diagnosed on the first place. Don't know anything about the welfare and how they operate but I'd say you might be right.........

There's that too John but I didn't wanna say anything.There may also be more undiagnosed parents on the spectrum who are starting families compared to 30 years ago.Now even the icebergers can have families due to the dating apps and their likelyhood of being a successful in IT.The nerds are running the world.

They do have the valid excuse of an efficient public transport network though. Think the tube is up and running around 5/5.30 a.m. and goes up to 12 or 1 a.m. Maybe this new Go crowd will be running buses all night in Dublin?

Lip Dublin is designed for the car or bike or walking .Look how few streets in the City that carry busses most of the city is not designed for public transport but i can see 24 hour bus services in the very near future .This new bus crowd dont pay the same T&Cs as Dublin Bus .Last week the Transport minister was before the Senate and a Dublin City Based Senator suggested mandatory EV for all Dublin City taxis .I think that is a possibility .Could be something like after 2025 on renual we have to be hybrid or EVs .If the Germans and French develope decent EVs im sure the EU will introduce a ban on non hybrid or EV in cities with over a million citizens or something similar .I personally am in favour of banning Diesel and petrol cars as it cannot be good for us working full shifts sitting behind somebody elses exhaust pipes .

When I was in the midlands there was a bus heading to the Airport via the Red Cow all night........that was yrs ago. I doubt the lads.ladies working for Go have the union to resist working all night........some conspiracy theorists reckon that the Irish need not apply. Hard to take if true, but I did see 3 of them parked up at Bray Dart station a while back and they were all oriental. God help us all if Dublin gets a 24 hr bus service....it doesn't need it........only cities with facilities open 24 hrs do....

Red Cow is the pick up for busses to Portlaois ,Kilkenny every two hours think its only 4 yoyo joins up with the air coach .Some of them you can use your old age travel card during the day .Apart from construction trades there is very little decent paying employment for Irish Men most of the high paid tech jobs are held by non nationals as we do not teach coding in school .If you were a kid just leaving school I wouldnt have a clue what to work at .5G is going to wipe out a lot of jobs especially low skilled .like shop checkout and bookies ,banks if the human can be replced by a digital device .Public service super annuated pensionable income seems to be the clever play .Mate of mine got a job as the porter in a health center about 20 years ago takes home just under 600 and has a pension to look forward to .His job involves opening up and closing the rest of the day he sits behind a desk pointing customers in the right direction .

We probably do need a 24-hour bus service.Bar staff and cleaners and shift workers don't wanna have to taxi home either.Wait until the Metro is finished and the QBCs go in making the buses move more freely.That's a few thousand Dublin taxi drivers not needed anymore.They're finally fixing the place but our trade will be the sacrifice.I won't lose any sleep over it anyway.

The "Professions" will be the ones hit, John. Google Docs etc has virtually done away with the need for typing. Software packages out there for accountancy, taxation and law.........teaching can be done digitally in massive theatre halls. Best to get the kids into electronics or hi-tech design.

Seriously Lip if I was young I would train as some sort of mental terapist .The world is totally fucked up people dont talk to people anymore .If you lookat the human Zoo the USA people will pay for somebody to listen to them.Big Dommos birds sister worked the streets in the 80s and she reconed about half of her clients only wanted to talk not fuck .You even see it with tinternet Forums lads typing thinking that others are reading what they have to say .Mens mental health has deteriorated hugely over the years previously men had a place in the workforce hiarachy but that has all gone now as its more about keeping your head down to pay the mortgage .

lol I agree but at least those of us over 40 can talk if we want to..............I'd brainwash my kids, hypothetically speaking, into joining the Greens, pay some Granny to train them how to knit their own socks and grow organic veg..train them to always reject the opinions of those over 25....encourage them to walk around with placards denouncing everything that happened before they were born.......
indoctrinate them into believing that Boyd-Barrett and Kim Jong-Un were the same person in different forms and that Ruth Coppinger was the real Mother Teresa....and then I'd tell them to ring the EPA hanging their neighbours for placing used tampons in the brown bin or inform on them for flushing the toilet after 11 p.m...I'd tell my daughters that men were evil, and that they could accuse them of anything with the surety of never having to face prosecution for defamation.......
I'd tell them that they were God and that Vegans are infallible.
