A Dublin Bus driver allegedly threatened to call gardai after a stand-off with a passenger over TWO chicken nuggets.
The clash happened on a bus near Tallaght after the driver took issue with the young black woman for bringing the McDonald's treat onto the bus.
Ronke Esther told Dublin Live she "felt picked on and insulted" over the ordeal, adding that the driver had no issue with a woman sitting opposite her "with the opposite skin colour to mine with coffee in her hand".
Ronke told how she got on the bus home from work on Tuesday evening at around 6:30 with three nuggets but was told by the driver she had to get rid of them.
The HR officer then ate one and rather than waste the rest, put the remaining nuggets in her handbag and went upstairs.
The young Dubliner who's in her early twenties told how the driver then turned the engine off and got out of his seat to confront her.
He ordered her to leave the bus, leading to a fifteen minute stand-off between the pair.
Ronke told Dublin Live that she ate the other two nuggets so that the driver would allow her to remain on the bus, but he was having none of it and threatened to call gardai.
She said: "I went to McDonald's and bought chicken nuggets, I had three remaining as I was getting on the bus. He said 'oh you can't have that' so I said OK and tried to eat them quickly.
"He then said 'you can't do that' so I said OK and put the two in my bag - but then he said I couldn't do that either, saying it's to do with hygiene. He told me to get off the bus.

"I just shoved them [the nuggets] in my bag and went upstairs, but he stopped the engine and followed me.
"He said I couldn't have them on the bus, so what I did was eat them on the spot, and then put the [empty] box in my bag.
"He then said because I disobeyed his orders in the first place he was going to call the guards."
Furious Ronke stuck to her guns and stayed sitting in the spot before other passengers got involved to support her.
"After a while most people went down to him and told him what he was doing was wrong," she continued.
"He eventually started the bus again."
Ronke was full of praise for her fellow passengers for springing to her defence - many of whom pointed out that they had often brought chips onto the bus without any issue.
She added: "I was surprised to get the support I got from other passengers - nobody said a bad word to me as they believed they would do the same if that happened to them and I was fighting for respect for my skin type and my rights."
According to Dublin Bus' rules online, consuming food or drink is not allowed on board, but Ronke said a girl sitting opposite to her had a coffee in her hand - but the driver had no issues with that, even after other passengers allegedly pointed this out.
In a statement to Dublin Live, Dublin Bus said: "We can confirm we received a complaint from a customer regarding this incident."
They added: "We take incidents of this nature extremely seriously and are investigating the matter."

I posted this on Roys .About 14 years ago a bus driver refused to let two African Lads on the Bus at The Workmans Club in Inchicore as one of them had a matress with himwhich would be normal to carry goods on a bus in Africa .He told the to get off the bus with their crap .He said you dont have a clue .The Africans called the Gards and complained about his language .It went to court and the Inspector was asked what training Dublin Bus Drivers got in dealing with people and the Inspector said they had no particular training in place .Then the Judge ruled in favour of the abused passengers but he also said that CIE was institutionally racist .The upshot of this was African or Ethnic minorities were able to claim subsidies to purchase cars as the states transport system was deemed racist by the courts .Its not Africans abusing the system its the system abusing them .London 1960 NO BLACKS ,NO DOGS ,NO IRISH .Irish have been racially abused and characterised as drunken wasters you would think we would have more respect for minorities .

It is not a threat to tell another person that you will call the Gardai. It is a right of every citizen to be allowed to call the Gardai in the event of an incident. In the eyes of the law telling someone that you will call the Gardai IS NOT A THREAT.
The young lady broke the rules of the bus, she then played the 'Race card' AND WON !

I agree 100% Ken

Had a bus driver in the car recently who tried to stop some scummer getting on in Coolock because he had a fake disability pass.
After lots of arguing the scummer tried to spray deodorant in behind the protective screen and set it alight. Then some immigrant black passenger lad got up and knocked him out then fukked him off the bus.
Firstly I thought fair play to the passenger then I thought why would the driver bother his bollox arguing with a scumbag when all he gets paid for is driving?Driver was a Dub and now he carries a stun gun on the bus.
-
Ya can carry all the stun guns, pepper spray, automatic rifles you want, but if ya ever use them on a customer then expect a Stay in the Big house and if the aggressor you defended yourself from is not Polar White then expect your stay in the Big house to be Doubled as it will be classed as a racial attack.
-
Wouldn't bother him..I'd say he'd rather be locked up than set on fire tbh..
-
That brings up another question. Are we allowed legally to carry a weapon for protection ,and if not should we be looking for such a concession ?
-
I'd say they'll just allow us to wear helmets and stab vests in the taxi.Imagine legally giving taxi drivers weapons..blood everywhere.

Yeah probably Taxi Driver's
-
Probably.
-
Probably.
Its like they talking about arming the cops, proven fact in all other countries the more you arm cops the more the baddies are armed, same with taxis arm the driver's and you give the pax a licence to respond.

at you will call the Gardai IS NOT A THREAT.
The young lady broke the rules of the bus, she then played the 'Race card' AND WON !
She only won because he backed down. He probably realised what a pathetic excuse for a man he would look like if he dialled 999... obviously not a taxi driver in his spare time!

Would love to hear that 999(112) call had it been made!
No doubt there would have been a garda car dispatched(blue lights and sirens) and the suspect handling the chicken nuggets would have been arrested and removed without fuss.....with the sweet curry sauce drippin down her chin!!

Ireland has the highest rates of some hate crimes in the EU, but no proper laws to address it (https://www.thejournal.ie/hate-crime-4105605-Jul2018/)
IRELAND HAS ONE of the highest rates of hate crime against people of African background and transgender people in the EU, but has no laws to address it. That’s according to a new report to be launched this afternoon by the Irish Council of Civil Liberties (ICCL). The report – titled The Lifecycle of a Hate Crime: Country Report for Ireland – find that Ireland is “seriously deficient” when it comes to addressing hate crime in the state.
...Ireland currently is one of a small number of EU countries that does not have specific laws around dealing with hate crimes.

Well I sincerely hope people will vote for Harmann Kelly in the upcoming european elections.he is our leader in the irexit freedom party.I hipe Peter Casey will also do very well for publicly stating there are a lot of freeloaders in the direct provision system.unfortunately i can no longer vote,as I have requested my name be taken off the voting register due to the death of democracy when the obstructionists prevented the UK leaving the EU in spite of the instructions the were given by their electorate.also on two occasions we were told to go back and vote again till we get it right now if that is the kind of democracy that exist, then I want no part of it

Peter Casey always looked hungover to me.
you can get a bang of mint chewing gum just by looking at a picture of him.
