So I'm coming into the Airport this morning at 10am dropping off so tried the virtual rank then parked outside the Raddison.Took me 55 minutes to get from 38th place to 14th.Then I got pissed off and left the virtual rank fearing I could gave been another 30/40 mins waiting.How the hell can yis make it work if you're not guaranteed a good job?
Luckily I got the Carlton to Malahide castle then Portmarnock to D4 and another tenner using my driver code so it worked out alright but an hour is more than I would wait for any job.Did I just pick a bad time?

I was feeling optimistic as others seem to do it regularly.Never again.The only way I see it paying off is if you convince every first-time passenger to use your driver code.Other than that its a long wait to potentially go to Swords or Ballymun.

I never knew there was a virtual rank in the airport,or anywhere else for that matter,and what the fukk is a driver code ?

It's just a letting on Queue that runs in the airport so lads can wait for app jobs in an orderly fashion.I won't bother again with it.
Everyone on the app has their own unique code.If you get the passenger to register a card with your code they get a tenner credit off the fare and you get a tenner credit(plus the fare).I only do it if someone has booked me already on the app.Sometimes they're first time users usually tourists who have already registered a credit card.I just give them my code before the fare ends and I get the tenner.Always tell them they can remove the card afterwards if they don't want to.
They're already using the app so I'm just trying to get some of my 12% back.

I've only done 30.But if you're working the airport rank regularly many of those folks are first-time users.I've been told Mytaxi has/had a loads of adverts plastered all over Uk and Dublin Airports.
I realise I'm using the referral system incorrectly but it's their fault for charging me 12% so we're even.If we all did it they'd take at least ten jobs from each new passenger before they made a profit.
It's not just your tenner but the tenner they give to the passenger.So a score on a job you were already covering.

10am on a Saturday morning is a shit time to join the virtual rank.
8am, Monday and Tuesday are very good times and then 4pm on Thursday and Friday evenings

Yes it is, but if you get a run to airport at the right time, grab a coffee, have a piss and wait about 20 minutes.
Only thing is, don’t bring the phone into the jacks in McDonalds or the Garagevas you lose your gps signal and it throws you out of the VR

I might jump on it another time if the queue a bit shorter.Is it possible to get into that little carpark at zone 18 without without paying anything?I'm running a tight arsed business model here..

No chance of free parking at zone 18. But sometimes it’s worth ringing the customer as they might be in the terminal still and the T2 multistory gives 10 minutes free and also Block C of T1 carpark

That's the best place to park, never any airport police too. Job comes up, accept, and call passenger. Most pax I go to pick up have never made it it zone 18, just rll them your outside T2.

I's virtual... same as the plot systems used by most traditional dispatchers.
