Title: Dial a Limo
Post by: Murph2 on August 30, 2019, 11:28:59 am
Taxi company now wants Limos to pay their freight, they're down from 200 plus to 70 drivers apparently. This might catch on.

I picked a fare up at John Rogersons Quay last night who'd been waiting 1hr and 20 minutes for NRC to show up.
Are they that short of drivers?

Bit of a lamp waiting that long for a Taxi in Dublin.....that seems rather stupid unless the hungry b****x was waiting on account.

Their method of despatching jobs is less efficient than the apps. The cab companies rank the customers by monthly spend. So they probably had cars available but were sending them elsewhere.

Doesn't help that their drivers are covering full-priced app work rather than work the radio they're paying for.

Copying Hail0/mytaxi/Free Now... although, to be fair, DAC was originally a hackney firm whereas Hail0 was originally a taxi firm.

Limos are exempt from age rules. Also window tint regulations. We fukked up badly allowing them to force a ten yer rule on us only to have our work given to 12 year old limo hacks.

Because we(just me probably) don't want to be at the mercy of an app.I'm really surprised we haven't got more wanked out older Superb limos. They do qualify and they're fairly cheap.

Engines need to be bigger than 1.9 for limos I believe.
Some of the super s had a 1.8 while the newer older ones have a 1.6

Good to know. There was a couple of 2.5 TDI ones as taxis. And I thought there was a 2.0 petrol version too with the turbo. Probably all in the scrap yard.
