FOUR people who were arrested after a man was shot at ten times in broad daylight yesterday have been released without charge.
The 43-year-old was blasted in the face, arm and backside after a gunman opened fire in Griffeen Glen Park in Lucan, Dublin.
He was rushed to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown with serious injuries but is now stable after undergoing emergency treatment.
The Irish Sun can reveal the target, 43, had been sitting in his a Toyota jeep when it was rammed by the hit-team’s van.
Once stopped, a gunman opened fired as the victim — who’s involved in the car trade — dived for cover.
Pictures shows the blasted grey vehicle with ten bullet holes through its front screen.
It’s understood the victim then stumbled to a nearby house and the alarm was then raised.
VEHICLES RECOVERED
The van was later burnt out just a short distance away and a gun recovered.
Another vehicle was also burnt-out in a different location. Both of these, gardai believe, were used as part of the hit.
It’s understood that the van double crossed itself - did a loop and accidentally returned to the same area - while driving away and cops believe that’s why it was burnt out in such close proximity to the shooting scene.
The target — who was also a close pal of murder victim David Lynch who was murdered in March — had previously been warned by gardai his life was in danger.
APPEAL
Cops had detained four people as part of their investigation.
This evening they were released without charge.
A Garda spokesman said: "The four persons detained in relation to this incident have been released without charge. Investigations are ongoing."
Earlier, a Garda spokesman said: "Gardai in Lucan are now appealing to anyone who may have noticed anything suspicious or any suspicious persons between 8pm and 9pm on Wednesday, 4th September 2019 on the Old Bog Road, Killeighter, Kilcock, County Kildare to come forward.
"Gardai are also appealing to any motorists who travelled this route between 8pm and 9pm who may have Dashcam footage.
"Gardai are also renewing their appeal to anyone who may have noticed two males running from vehicles at Griffeen Glen Park, Lucan, Elm Way, Lucan Liffey Road, Liffey Valley Park, Lucan and Blind Lane, Fassaroe, Bray on Wednesday 4th September 2019.
"Or any unusual activity in this area over the last five days, or any motorists who may have Dashcam footage to contact Lucan Garda station on 01 666 7300,
The Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda Station."

Did ya know that any missile fired that is not self propellered...immediately drops at the rate of gravity...
I once blew a baby rabbits head in 2 at 200 yards over the curvature of a hill by guessing wer the little cnut had run to even tho I couldn't see him.......poor cnut

A lot of shootings are not over money they are over some sort of disrespect or slight percieved to have been delivered .Its Mafia type stuff now Respect is more important than money if you lose respect then somebody will take your money .Sopranos and Goodfellows are like training videos for some lads .Anyhow I would prefer a judge to pass sentence and not the Papers on who or what these shooting victims are supposed to have done .Trial by inkis a dangerous development .

Three loud bangs were heard said one local...all out of key said the Music teacher! 8)
