At least he contributes John. How many of the other 500 members do?...I'd be more concerned about the quiet ones.
-
What this industry needs is more people like John and Octy.
Couldn’t do a days work in a million years.
12 hour weeks FFS and yet slate people that are willing to work.

I can actually go the whole week without taking one cent in cash.
And probably what you have in your pocket goes to Paddy Powers.
Cash is so yesterday John, move with the times.

I wouldn't agree at all John M, I think the lad has done very well and defo put a few of us in our place with his Referral Code numbers.
As fer the SHARED FARES/RIDE SHARE thing, that was always a Dead Duck waiting to happen. Irish folk are in general a strange lot, we don't like to complain and we don't like to Share !

Dont be so sure Kenneth .If they can get students toshare they willeducate them for the future .Like minded people will share 2 to the airport from the same hotel at the same time as long as the receptionist gets a free travel voucher or a coin .They have a long term plan you only see this weeks wages .

An old friend has been reduced to driving for Lyft in Boston.
Four people that don't like each other sharing the same confined space = silence and awkwardness.

I would guess at No advantage, but again guessing as FN play their cards very close to their chest, if you were to get a lot of very low ratings you just might get an unpleasant phone call ??

I'm very regular.
Thanks i'll tell him that.

Regular customers
If'n your customer rates a driver as a 'Favourite driver', then that driver will get a short time advantage (2/3 seconds ?) on that customers next booking/s.
-
I get a decent amount of work off it and I'm only ranked higher than bronze a couple a times a year.I'm no ambassador shitbag and get priority maybe once a month by accident.Could be my rating or it could be that I work in town a lot.
It's worth noting that Uber penalises drivers with ratings less than 4.5% by only giving them leftovers. Also the company Uber uses to gamify their app is the same one Mytaxi used Can't remember their name.

My advice fer your friend Lizzzy if they are new to FN is to try to stay on Gold status, (Gold/Silver every second week will suffice to keep Gold status), Go Ambassador (they actually pay you to do it !), and keep Priority as much as possible, that will keep them Good and Busy !

I'm surprised Ken has not mentioned the benefit of Donut's as well
-
I was in Vicar Street in April to see the Drop Kick Murphys (yes they were excellent) when it was over i was expecting to see a line of taxis doing the Thorazine shuffle outside, but not a one to be seen. We had to walk down to Jurys where there was an old lad sitting in his taxi reading the paper, I tapped on the window and knocked him out of a daydream, Yes he said he'd be delighted to bring us to our hotel, We weren't gone long, when we passed a rank with about 150 taxis sitting waiting for Godot. What's that all about with a thousand people looking for a lift.

I'm hardly a 'Wet day' on the App MFH, I joined at the very start in Cork (about 5/6 years ago) but that was prob about 1 or 2 years later than yiz Pox Doobs got it.
I went Ambassador 18 months ago, leaving my base and base subs behind, and I got paid 100 Euro fer doing it !
Then they threw 8 cent off per liter of fuel and half-price car-washes at me, and more work than I could ever handle !
I'm not sur if'n the Donuts worked ?
But they definately didn't hinder !
lol

I see it regularly in Cork while dropping off customers in town in the early evening, lines of Taxies qued up at city ranks and the App hopping with suburban work looking to go in to town, but they will sit there and wait up to an hour rather than drive 5/10 minutes out to a job (with PUC) ??

Yeah that was my first thought, it must be rubbing off on the darkies as well, they're usually creeping alongside you when your walking on the footpath, trying to entice you aboard.

last summer outside one of the petrol stations two of them crashed in to each other (miner damage) one lad was laying on the road calling for an ambulance, the other was leaning against a wall holding his head, he too wanted an ambulance. I hope they were alright.

Important Update:
Customer Referral Feature
Hi Vandriver,
Over the past few years, we have been able to attract over a million passengers on to the FREE NOW app in Ireland. We continue to add tens of thousands of additional passengers each month and it’s thanks to drivers like you that we have been able to grow FREE NOW into the number one taxi provider in Ireland.
Part of our growth was due to the customer referral programme that was set up to reward drivers for introducing new customers to the app. To date, we have spent millions in driver bonuses and passenger discounts and have been delighted to be able to grow the passenger base for you to the highest level ever recorded.
While the customer referral programme has performed well in the past it has recently come to our attention that there are much more effective ways for us to add even more passengers for you in 2019. As such we have decided to switch off the customer referral feature starting from today. Don't worry, all payments from last week will be included in your next weekly statement.
Our plans for passenger growth:
Continue to bring in new passengers every month through industry leading marketing.
Continue to offer bonuses to drivers to ensure our passengers get the highest service levels available.
Continue to bring in passengers from all over Europe (Jobs from the airport are up a staggering 55% this year).
-
Fcuk Tat , suppose we wont be advising out Cash Customers of THAT brilliant App now (not that I ever did)
-
Ya rode it 'TOO HARD' VD !
-
It had a huge flaw in that you could get the customer to put in your code on their first journey, even though they booked you on the app.I got 360 that way.Not bad for a part-timer.
-
Don’t think it mattered if the person used it a few times.
They got the bonus when they registered their card.
-
And it's gone...

You'll be kept after the taxi purge, Van. You do sterling work for the cause. The Purge will begin at 7 pm and you'll be notified one day in advance of the sheep.
-
So I found out why they discontinued the driver referral codes today. They've been asking their cash customers to register a card before they can use the app.Two fares in the last couple of days have asked me to allow them to pay by cash even though there was a card on the job screen.
They can't book a taxi anymore without some sort of card attached. They discontinued referrals because it could be fiddled.
-
Probably to stop the scum from ordering taxis who's only purpose is to rob them.
-
I wonder?
E.g., there's a car hire place beside St Peters Church on the NCR. The manager (?) uses his personal (non-Hertz) account to hail taxis for tourists dropping off hire cars. The tourists obviously pay cash.
And you'd have your 'I picked you up last night, I've hailed a taxi, now get the fuk out' type of hails as well? A good guy might put it on account, most would probably book it as a cash job!
Same with hotels & pubs I'd imagine...
-
It might discourage some passengers from cancelling,if they didn't have a card registered, some might not give a bollox about the two minute warning or being fuked off the app, looks like the customer now has to ask the driver to change the payment option.
-
The option to change to cash might be next to go
-

Well...it seems to have gone for the customer.

We have your customers, now fuck off!
