Title: need a loan
Post by: john m on October 10, 2019, 11:21:42 am
Our kid just got mortgage approval .Bank told her they are ceasing to offer mortgages ,car loand even term loans due to possible Brexit crap .Banker says international money markets are not willing to loan big money to Irish or other EU banks as they fear for the value of the euro post Brexit and if Donny T puts tarriffs on EU goods due to EU state air for Airbus Planes .Might be worth looking for credit now if your planning on borrowing for anything .

Honestly that sounds unbelievable John.If you have good credit you'll get a loan. The banks are moaning about the earning multiples every few weeks. They want to be able to lend more not less.Property market in Dublin is stalling.

I own a house but am self employed you wouldnt believe the crap they asked could I get a guarantore They want your wages going in so they can charge you every time you withdraw money .KBC are offering 2000 if you have a mortgage and change your bank account and lodge your wages with them but read the small print they have a huge cash withdrawl fee .TSB are offering 2% refund on mortgage but read the small print you are tied in and if you move your mortgage you have to reemburse them.Banks dont want to loan money they want to charge you for minding your money .

They make more than enough with the interest on the loan. The cashback offers are just sweeteners. If your kid borrows 250k she pays back 400/450 over 30 years.

As a Permanent TSB customer,i have to maintain a €2500 daily balance to avoid quarterly fees,BoI is €3000 but there's still some charges involved(maintenance fee)....there doesn't seem to be any benefit as a BoI mortgage customer.

This week, my credit union asked me for my email address for marketing & shit.  Said their 'temporary' special rate car loans etc was going all year now.  They've posters up saying they'll do a loan for kitchen revamps and extensions.  You'd probably be talking 15k for a new kitchen and, what, 50k for a cheap extension?  So my credit union wants to give out loans anyways.

Credit unions are begging you to take a loan .If they lodge your savings in the bank they have to pay the bank to hold it and their account is only guarenteed for 100,000 if the bank goes under it takes your credit union with it .By lending your savings to other members they reduce the risk of getting wiped out by any bank collapse .

I've heard of several CUs asking for Income Tax Agreements in support of loan applications by self-employed taxi drivers. In every case they said it's to comply with Central Bank regulations.

Banks are now asking self employed for 3 years tax clearance .Seems a lot of shisters declare big earnings and write off expences the first year so their after tax earnings is high then they borrow against that figure or even cook the books by overdeclairing earnings and pay the tax on it .Taxi driving and Hairdressing seem to be favourite employment for fradulent wage earnings .I see the taxithingey have issued some sort of earnings average for drivers in their how much it will cost to rejig your meter .

That's been like that for ages John.Taxi drivers are a risky gamble for banks. They're doing us a favour TBH.The same lads buying 40k motors will be the same ones trying to buy a 500k house.

When I was changing my car the story was certain licence holders were getting credit and not paying for the vehicle it took years to get a repossession order then as it was your only means of earning drivers were appealing and it was taking another year before the court granted repossession orders and the vehicle was worthless .A good mate in the business recons about half of the WATs that are on the road are in default payments as the drivers PSV driving licence cannot be removed by the courts only the vehicle .There was a lad who was arranging finance for WATs who has ceased trading .He was signing up drivers and selling on the contract to some Czeck Bank .Think the same bank was providing car finance for some of the West Dublin independent car traders !

Just about the mortgages they take an average of your last three years returns. So even if you put in a whopper in your third year it gets dragged down by the lower ones. Not worth it unless you're playing the long game.

Banks dont look on a home owner as a guarentee of payment with changes to the Law your hen or your live in squeeze have a claim on the Bricks and mortar even if their handle isint on the log book. Your earnings and disposable income now decides if they will loan you coin .

If I don’t own my home til I pay back the bank, shouldn’t they pay the property tax?

Although I did it myself years ago, I puzzled why anyone needing a car loan would go to a credit union ? I think they charge much more then other lending instructions. I bought a car many years ago through the CU, I borrowed 20k and paid them back 24800.thwte are a few interest free deals at the moment from some dealers surely this is a better option ?

Thats why I posted this tread .A lot of Car deals are not available to self employed especially taxi drivers .If a taxi driver defaults on the loan the car is worthless to the Garage if they repossess it .I was looking to change my car earlier this year and few dealers were willing to get credit for taxi drivers in fact Phoenix motors at Kilmainham were asking 16% for taxi credit .Some workers might find it difficult to refinance a replacement motor .I know a fella bought a 3 year old x taxi  occi repossessed by finance company 140 ,000 Km for 4K cash his mate worked for the garage got it trade .

AIB is charging 8.95% so 16% to get you on the road isn't terrible.Obviosly the plan would be to pay it off early.Allowing a loan to run it's course even at 8.95% is expensive.

By the way I have 300 quid saved towards my next vehicle that I started planning for 3 months ago.Not a great start..

My expenses are about that amount.10k a year to be exact from 2021.But I can get that figure down by working more.

I have one dog and that's enough shite to be picking up.Dog grooming in a van is another avenue. They're up to their tits in bookings.€65 for a doggy doo..

Aer Lingus received state aid in the 1990's, €150 Million. the proviso was that they dump Boeing aircraft and purchase Airbus.
That's OK. then?

Looking like Brexit might not happen so £ will bounce back against the Euro ,now might be the time to buy a replacement motor from the UK
