A taxi driver who came to the aid of a mugging victim and drove her home for free after her phone and money were stolen has been hailed as a hero.
The victim was attacked by three men in the early hours of Sunday morning near The Workman's Club on Wellington Quay.
The attackers grabbed her bag and punched her in the eye as she tried to grab it back from them.
She was left with just €10 and used it to take a taxi to her sister's house in Drumcondra only to find she was not home.
The victim was extremely stressed when she came across the kindly cabbie.
Her other sister explained: "She managed to hail a taxi in Drumcondra and explained to the driver what had happened.
"He brought her to a guard, to a shop to buy her water and tissues and then brought her out to us in Bray all free of charge."
The family took to social media in an attempt to track down the generous driver with many praising him for helping the distraught woman.
One woman said: "Fair play to the taxi man their (sic) are some good people."
Another added: "Thank God your sister is okay and what a wonderful, kind man the taxi driver was. I hope you find him."
But it appears the kindly driver doesn't want to be rewarded for his good deed.

If you owned a cab company you would.
No good deed goes unpunished.
