Dublin to become first city in Europe to offer fast food delivery by drone
The service is expected to launch next month

Europe's first fast food delivery service by drone will start in south Dublin in a matter of weeks, according to a leading tech company.
Manna Aero founder Bobby Healy predicted huge demand for the service when it is launched in a south Dublin suburb with 30,000 people in March.
Speaking on ‘The Big Tech Show’ podcast, Mr Healy said drones would deliver food from several chains to your door inside of three minutes.
He revealed: “Camile Thai is a partner on the food side. Next Tuesday, we will formally announce the name of a major online food player that everybody knows.”
He said that “major online food player’s” delivery service app would have a new drone symbol.
He added: “You’ll open the app and, in the case of Camile Thai, it will offer for the food to be picked up by drone.
“If you order by drone it will be delivered in less than three minutes.”
Earlier this month, Camile Thai chief executive Brody Sweeney said the Manna Aero drone delivery system would allow customers to pick a landing area around their home, such as a patio or driveway.
Mr Healy, the former chief technology officer of CarTrawler, said the Irish Aviation Authority had been supportive of the initiative.
He said: “We’re going to open it up to about 30,000 people to begin with.
“What we expect to happen is that there’ll be too much demand and so we’ll have to restrict it in some way.
“But anyone who wants to see it can just come along and see it happening. It will be in a public place.”
Mr Healy recently revealed his ambition to expand to 50,000 delivery drones for the Irish and UK markets.
Manna Aero uses “custom-designed aviation-grade drones” built in Europe and the US.

I dunno how this is gonna happen.I got a loan of a drone recently and about 85% of Dublin appears to be a no go area.Anything near Prisons or Garda stations or anything sensitive is illegal to fly over.There's one corner of the Phoenix park and a few beaches but the drones are mostly useless.

They seem to have a plan! To be honest I wouldn't fancy their chances of getting the food to the intended client or getting their drones back to the depot in a lot of the council built housing schemes I work up above in Dublin.

I got stoned out of it by bout 25 retatarded chimpanzees with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder in darndale twice .....and not once did they hit me Octavia........
So the drones wont have any trouble ......
Got stoned out of it in ballbrack once by cople cnuts who didnt pay me ...I introduced me mate Wilson to them .....they didnt like him atall ....but they cudny hit me Octavia neither .....

I don't think the general public will tolerate them buzzing over their houses with HD cameras.The food delivery ones will be the size of a washing machine.Maybe they mean the ones on the ground like they use in the UK.
When I was testing the drone from the sofa there's nothing more alarming than having a device with multiple plastic blades flying in your face.They sound like a garden strimmer.Not very relaxing at all.

Big Dommos other brother from another mother races Pigeons if one of them Drones interfears with his birds he will burn down the chipper that owns the drone .I wonder will they do deliveries to Killinarden ?

Big Dommos Brother drinks with a Priest on Wednesdays and Fridays down the Pigeon Club .I was talking to him last night in the Chipper and suggested he should tell his Priest buddie about drones .He could then send a text to the Pope suggesting delivering holy communion by drone to make up for the lack of Priests .Thinking like that could get a Priest a promotion to Bishop .
