If everything on the news is to be believed we're gonna be quieter over the next few months and possibly years.Should we be lobbying the NTA to cease their recruitment drive for new entrants.The lady on the news says the restaurant and hospitality industry could lose 20000/30000 jobs.This isn't really a time to be taking more gimps in rentals.I don't want to go back to earning less than the minimum wage.Sniff sniff.Any thoughts or are we too late as usual.

I think we should be lobbying to get rid of the rental section instead.this would have the same effect more or less

All I can say is I'm delighted I don't have to change the car for another year.I'll be saving a bit between now and then and if this industry turns back to a pile of shite I'll happily lapse me plate.No way I'm doing 60/70 hours a week again.Life is too short.

There are far to many taxis in Dublin.last Friday noght being a prime example,and this shower of money grabbing uncaring cunts called the NTA want to bring in more ? Its shameful what they are doing

The NTA cannot regulate the current crop of drivers.
What chance of regulating multiples of that?
They have been in operation for almost 16 years and I've yet to be checked.

The Unions? Of course it was Jim Waldron (Enforcer, NPHTA) who suggested lowering the cost of entry because he believes over 20,000 men left the trade to pursue more lucrative vocations... ITDF proprietor, Joe Heron also believes over 20,000 drivers left to pursue more lucrative vocations...

A young woman was having a physical examination and was very embarrassed because of a weight problem.
As she removed her last bit of clothing, she blushed.
"I'm so ashamed, and dirty Doctor," she said, "I guess I let myself go."
The physician was checking her eyes and ears.
"Don't feel ashamed, Miss.
You don't look that bad."
"Do you really think so, Doctor?" she asked.

It never smells and it’s always silent.
As a matter of fact I’ve passed gas at least 20 times since I’ve been here in your office.
You didn’t know I was passing gas because it doesn’t smell and it’s silent."
The doctor says "I see. Take these pills and come back to see me next week."
The next week the lady goes back. "Doctor," she says, "I don’t know what you gave me, but now my passing gas… although still silent, it stinks terribly."
"Good", the doctor said, "now that we’ve cleared up your sinuses, we’ll start to work on your hearing."
