John,Carvills Hill was a monster and as you alluded to his jumping was the Achilles Heel

Really thought this horse below was going to be better than anything

Killed when he fell in the Scottish Champion hurdle .BUT and its a big but nothing he beat that year at Cheltenham went on to do anything .Carvills gave weight and a hammering to Party Politics who won a National Esher Ness who won the National that wasent 6 placed National horses and that years Gold Cup winner .

Fell when still on the bridle at the  last,cantering over household names in racing like Sea Pigeon,Night Nurse, Birds Nest and Beacon Light amongst others.Remember because it wasn't a Handicap back then  he was actually giving weight to Night Nurse and he was still a Novice Hurdler.

I wonder if Soccer will go like American Football after this with just a Premier League as professional league with lower teams just used to provide players .When you consider how many people play american football and basket ball very few make pay from it .League of Ireland going back to being just an Amateur sport .
