I wonder if Leo will have any good news for pensioners tomorrow or will the unelected Minister for Transport remain housebound?
-
I'd say the pensioners will just have to Netflix and chill for another while!! lol
-
It's ok!..the low income tax payers will pay for everything...this means you!
-
In an ideal world, perhaps. If we have learned anything from COVID '19 we have learned that we need to significantly increase our tax to GDP ratio - thanks to CSD. That ought to encourage Govt to broaden the tax base and significantly increase indirect taxation.

Only into Sweden to the extent that they didn't have a police state lockdown----outside their 70's porn stars, the admiration stops there
-
Oh come now, CSD... I don't for one minute believe that a man of your obvious intellect would seek to present a tabloid headline as a substantive argument. You have sewn the seed and sat back watching others nurture the path to substance. You're like an erm with a brain!

Why dont they just print more money??...they run the mint
-
I'm open to correction but I think the various Central Bank Mints are like sub-contractors to the ECB. So, for example, Ireland might print the €5 notes, Spain might print the €10 notes while France might print the €20 notes. So I don't think they can print whatever they want. Again, I'm open to correction.

The Germans won't let us is the easy answer but the real reason is inflation i.e. the value of the currency in circulation would naturally align to the underlying intrinsic value it represents.
-
The lads in Dundrum are not empowered to print currencies nilly willy..They are usually contracted to print a foreign Countries version of the Euro.In the past a limited number of print rooms were allowed to print local currency and recieved the plates and security enhancements under strict conditions...On a security specialist job...I mislaid a small piece of water marked paper in the Laboratory..They sent a forensic team ...who took the place apart..Found it at the back of a radiator..Phew...what a big deal...No Nilly willy about printing money when you feel like it I can tell you!
-
It seems an ideal way to cull the herd.
-
do you want that one back?????
-
My brother, a pensioner, is renting his taxi to a pensioner who's still working.
How much is enough?
-
Well I intend staying on a while yet silver, the difference is now hopefully I'll be able to do even less hours with the safety net of the pension
-
It probably wouldn't cover the discounts if you worked for Free Now.
-
Glad I don't work with free now then
