Think I read that drivers are supposed to keep a record of who they give a Jaunt to so they can be traced .Now If you pick up a passenger on behalf of a Dispatcher and you come into contact with a dizzzzzeeeeesed person .Can you sue the dispatcher for Corporate Negligence if they have not asked the passenger for their Covid status prior to accepting the Job .

When things get back to near normal, and groups of 4 start going out,will guys get front seat add on screens? I've only had 3 front seat passengers since all this started, all of them young lads.

No... When things get back to normal, the screen that I only paid €50 for will be coming back out of the car.

when I go back working there will be no screen going into the car, even if there is only 1 passenger, unless they are going to a test centre to see if they have the virus, they can sit in the front. if I get it I get it, not a bit bothered about it.

Dunno if it applies to us but new guidelines issued today say that any businesses that can't maintain the two meter rule need sneeze guards.Does this apply to us and will the NTA force us to only carry three passengers in the back from now on with screens?
Then why would the three in the back wanna travel together unless they're from the same household?
I'd rather catch it than put those screens in my vehicle.They do very little unless they're a 100% seal.
The other day Leo said that OAPs out on their walks should not be stopping to talk to each other even at two meters.This thing is much more contagious than they're letting on.A partial screen seems pointless.

I know the screen in my car is pointless but I honestly think that customers will be looking for them in the cars before they think about getting in. If you're first on a rank and haven't got one and the second car has, there getting away before you.

I dunno...I think if your gonna travel by taxi you already don't care about picking up viruses.Taxis are impossible to clean properly.Too many fiddly bits around the door handles and window switches.The customers know we're not gonna be wiping the car down all/night day after every €7 job.There are lads out there who don't even clean the car before suitability once a year.
Let's see what the NTA pull out of their hole.

What about seatbelts and buckles?The passengers need to touch both to put the belt on and it's mandatory.I dunno if a screen is gonna be enough to get them to feel safe.

Screen's, hand sanitizers. anti bacterial wipes, masks, cleaning, (after every job. that's present that's the future, embrace it.

I wonder will PUP be extended for owners of businesses that can't maintain the two meter rule but are classed as essential services?

What I'd be asking is, you know the part on the insurance proposal form which asks did you make any modifications to the car, I wonder would this screen be considered a modification, and if so in the event of an accident would they try to wriggle out of paying because it was not declared. Similarly I wonder would there be any problems passing NCT, or suitability test

They are modifications and you must notify them or risk nullifying the insurance.

No, if you contact your insurance company and ask them is it ok to fit a sneeze guard and they say, "of course you can that's no problem" then you're covered .. ..

I'd get that in writing, also do you know if the NCT, and especially the suitability people would have no problem also. That fukin suitability is gone very sticky in the last few years

it's held on with cable ties to the headrest, do you think it'll be there for the suitability or the NCT?
Or at the weekends (I don't work weekends)
