The NTA staff are safely working from home on their laptops on full pay.They probably think we're gobshites for working during a global pandemic.I doubt they'd be encouraging us by giving out stickers or advice on screens.
The fact that they allowed us to suspend our licences shows how serious they took the lockdown.

It's not as "thick" as the old Taxi regulator one, although I did consider putting it higher up, then I thought ... "sure there'll be nobody sitting there messing with it" apart from the Missus, you're right though , a consideration, depends on how tight the rubber is

I just lock the front passenger door and if necessary guide the customer/s to the rear seats.
Fares are in short supply these days and if 4 passengers turn up, then 1 will be allowed in the front seat, rather than lose the fare.

I saw a taxi yesterday with two big X marks made out of masking tape on the passenger window.Cheap and effective.Anything that the passengers can't read from a distance will only annoy them.
Maybe you could make a big arrow pointing towards the back of the car from tape.

And fares will be getting even shorter in supply when the Covid 350 payment ends
in mid July and all drivers return to work with the pubs still closed till Mon 10th August.

Dunno Ken I heard yis are all making €2500 a week.No need to be keeping all that lovely work to yerselves by pretending it's dead out.How could ya possibly be a Gold medal driver if it's not busy?Only an idiot would give up the €350 and go back to work if they weren't very busy...
Most lads would probably need to take in €500 to clear €350.

A man I know who hires casual labour says the Covid money will be REVIEWED but extended for another 4 or 6 weeks .The young Lad with no education that runs the Dep of Health has been told to extend it pending the formation if there is one of the next Government .If no Government is formed Leo does not want to be Fighting an election on the back of welfare cuts .You can take from this that as soon as there is a New Government sworn in the Hammer will come down on payments .

I hate when people call these payments FREE MONEY.it is NOT fukin free money,it is OUR tax payers money.we paid it into the exchequer in the first place.we now need to avail of it ourselves,so how does anyone make out its free money. ?

Not back yet, won't go back while the €350 is on offer, the sticker is just balanced on the ledge for the picture, I haven't stuck it on yet.

I read the news reports on RTE, nothing confirmed yet but a limited extension of the Covid payment seems likely.

I did get Gold status with FN last week because I worked my bollix off fer 4 weeks to get it, and now with FN Gold status/ambassador I get offered quite a lot of work and I don't need to work so hard anymore to make my weekly quota's.
When I stated it was 'Dead' out there, I only ever stated that the ranks and streets were dead (which they still are) but the FN app tips away.
Of the 60 FN jobs per week that I did over them 4 weeks you could probably add on about 4 or 5 street/rank jobs per week to that total.
Things have changed drastically in these Covid times fer the Taxi game and I have learned how to adapt.

Freenow isnt the problem ...ther just a multinational takin over control of a marketplace before some other multinational does ...the problem is drivers who for short term gain fail to see they are undermining ther own and everyone elses future by voluntarily playing the company's tune without question or foresight or the least bit of brain matter ....all they see is the bag of sweets ...they dont see the big owl hairy flute heading ther way

There’s a few advantages to the screens, less talking, when they fart you should be ok, security from attack, lessens the chance of picking up colds, flu and other transmitable viruses. I don’t see the downside?

Insurance will claim motification to your car should you have an accident,NCT will claim the same,Suitably will fail you for scratches on screen even though its not part of the test,and drivers are doing their very best to make more fukin rules for themselves,not to mention more expense.

Actually they do the opposite, when rear seat passenger used to lower the window I’d have to crack open mine to balance it or I’d hear a vibrating type noise, with the screen that’s gone.

I’ve informed the insurance and they’ve added that detail, no additional charge. Not sure about suitablity and nct, but I’d have it out in a minute, and back in in 5 minutes .. I’m not advocating that screens become mandatory at all. (Though I think they wii)...It just suits me.

They probably WILL become mandatory,not because the NTA says so,but because punters will demand them because a few drivers have them..so effectively every driver that gets one,is putting pressure on another driver to get one.can nobody see where this is going ? This fukin screen will,eventually become part of suitability ,and any scratches graffitie etc will result in a fail,and YOU will be responsible for bringing in these new fukin rules,nobody else..I cannot believe none of you can see where this is going
