Dollymount what was the first thing I said when they offered screens at your expense .I also pointed out the 50% off HSE fares were also Fixed fares watch this space Dollyer .Joe Herron said it was a great idea .TTnH introduced Hailo to their members thinking they would damage old pre dereg foes who now operate dispatches in fact they managed to hand over all the business to dispatchers at a cost to their members .You couldnt make this shit up .

It wasn't really gonna go any other way with Freenow despite all the I told you so posts I read on here.

If the black cabs drivers in London can't control the apps what chance do we have.Be happy yis didn't have any proper  tests to pass to be on the road because then we would feel proper fukked over.We got cheap plates and easy tests. We should be asking why the fuk was it so easy to get into this industry.

Dollyer your missing the point .After we blocked the Roads while the EU were in town Noel Dempsey said he would sort us out then Leo when we blocked the Roads said enough .Did you notice the Kesh didnt block the Airport when Me Taxi took over the waiting room ? Dep of Transport set the industry up with the review and the TAC, men went mad trying to get on while others declined .The review was hand picked and sold a pup .READ it careefully .Is said the Minister wanted ALL drivers aligned to a dispatcher and the industry to be cashless .WHAT PART OF THAT DID DRIVERS NOT READ OR UNDERSTAND your representatives on the review agreed to all of this .Did you think that the Department of Transport were only paying lip service .That was the OFFICIAL government Policy  The new screen jobs are cashless thats one of the terms and conditions .Instead or reading the review and starting up their own dispatcher or industry app to few drivers were to interested in sorting out old scores driven on by paying to much for a worthless plate or accepting the Taxi plate while the brother or sister got the family home .As Frankie said there is a reason some lads drive taxies and its only a part time gig .He is a very clever man you know .

Absolutely, dalymount!, Do not let them bully us. That's the attitude their grew since we let them step in this City. That screens are extremely unsafe and there is no Crash Tests showing what will happen in case of collision when you drive in public! They obey "WHO" Scamdemic guidelines which is  allready know in U.S from their dark practice! Its all in People hands Now!

Any of you who have a screen ( at the behest of F/N) I hope you dont have a crash .if you do,you will have a hell of a job explaining to your insurance company why you  made a modification yo your car without informing them

If its the case that F/N are offering such screens (at YOUR ezpense to the public) then you are well within your rights to ask them to put it in writing guaranteeing that it passes all regulatory, and insurance criteria.IN WRITING

I rang axa today to ask about the safety screens in the taxi and they said absolutely no problem with screens in the cars. So where are you getting your information from with the insurance..

I tell you where im getting it from Billy .God forbid you have an accident, and someone in your car is seriously injured as a result of a collision with the screen.the insurance companies are absolutely notorious for trying to wriggle out of paying.now if you dont have it in writing, your ass is out the window.id like to know if there is a reluctance on the part of freenow,or indeed Ebbs to guarantee safe passage through NCT ,suitability, and insurance.if they have such confidence in what they want to promote then they should have no problem giving you that guarantee, and if they wont put it in writing for you, then id be very worried

Not a hope in hell would freenow or Ebbs or similar would give you any guarantee whatsoever,it's between whoever fits and supplies and you and your insurance company.

Well they are the people who are offering screen fitted taxis,so in effect they are saying to the public we can offer you protection.all im saying is,if they are so confident ,let them put it in writing.example F,N offer a taxi with a screen which they have advertised.so a member of the public decides to take that car purely because of the screen fitted car that FREE NOW offered.now lets say there is an accident, and the passenger is hurt as a result of the screen, who does the passenger take up the claim with.the driver who fitted the screen as a condition of free now subscription,or FREE NOW who told the driver we are now offering the public screen safety, and if you want to subscribe to our company policy, then tou must fit a screen ?

I think we're being hung out to dry.  Everybody is passing the buck and saying read the NTA document.  But it says nothing and you'd want to be a lawyer and an engineer to understand it.  There's more regulations about the bandages in our boot!

I wrote to BJP (Axa broker) and they wrote back;
Quote
...I would advise that at present AXA Insurance have not requested any specific requirements for screens, however, I would refer you to the NTA regulations regarding screens. They have advised that any screens will need to be to their requirements at your next SGS and if not your taxi will not be passed out.

Same with the non-advice at the start of all this.  NTA kept saying read the HSE docs.  But nobody official AFAIK has said whether it's safe or not to work in a small enclosed metal box with 10-15 strangers all day, every day...

Spoke to a working (Irish) Lynk driver today (who would never lie to a comrade!).  He said the screens were crap and he couldn't hear what the pax were saying.  Anyways, most of his work was doing package deliveries for the courier companies.

Freenow would say they put us in touch with whoeverthefuck company who are supplying/fitting them and it's nothing to do with them as they are not mandatory yet. They would tie you up the fook in legal knots if you tried to get them.Bolloxology I know dalyer but that's the way these sleeveens move.

Well firstly it is THEY who are advertising that they can supply a safe screen fitted taxi,so on that basis they must be prepared to take the rap for it if it turns out NOT to be a safe screen fitted taxi.secondly this really does call in to question if the drivers are employees,or agents of F,N it should be determined.they cannot offer something to the public on your behalf, and then refuse to accept responsibility for it in the event of an accident.that needs to be trashed out.WHO IS RESPONSIBLE..you for fitting the screen under their instruction,or them for making it part of the criteria for joining them

If you look at the passenger app if you book a car with a screen --its for 2 passengers only and a prerequisite is card payment--its just been used as another data grab !

the insurance companies are absolutely notorious for trying to wriggle out of paying.

Examples please?

In my experience they can't wait to pay. If they refuse they have to pay anyway through MIBI and then they have no policyholder to "load".
