BusConnects will be extended to the cities of Cork, Galway Limerick and Waterford, at the behest of the Greens;
* A new “Total Contributions Approach” for pensions is included in the Programme for Government;
It has been agreed that the carbon tax will rise to €100 a tonne by 2030 as demanded by the Greens.
It is understood that the parties have agreed to an annual spend of €360 million on walking and cycling infrastructure.

It reads like a Gosgrave Programme from the 40s .Not one mention apart from increase in Carbon tax on how we are going to pay for this .ONE AND A HALF BILLION over 5 years on pushbikes and walking but local councils have an 8 million limit of any one housing project .Dont know if the Dog Licence will go up or if you need a licence for your Wolf if the Greens reintroduce them .

EVs are not holding their value, a 5 year old Nissan leaf isn't worth shit because the range is so poor, similarly battery technology will improve over the coming years making the current lot valueless, also as you probably know already batteries degrade over time and even after a year are nowhere near their original capacity.
The cost of replacing them is prohibitive

They're getting there slowly but I'm not ready to take the plunge just yet.Too risky considering what we're facing.
The leaf 40 does about 150 miles.Leaf 62 does over 220 miles but they're very pricey.
New leaf 40 is about 29k before grants.So roughly 19k on the road.
New leaf 62 is 38k before grants so 28k on the road.
Still way too pricey but another 5k on the grant it might convince me.
There is some value on two year old leccy cars that we can still get 7/8k grants on but the import Priuses get the win because there are less compromises.Feels wrong to be taking in thousands when I'm on the Covid dole.

Bus Connects is a fantastic service but funding them to run a bit later i.e. until the pubs are really closed would make sense once the pubs are officially open again.

They've got a speaker built into all the newer leccy cars for pedestrians if you can't hear it the owner probably chose to switch it off.

They put speakers in so we could hear the indicators when electronics replaced chattering relays... makes at least as much sense so pedestrians/cyclists/wildlife/farm animals/domestic pets can hear the "engine".
