Title: Promoting our Service
Post by: Theoneandonly on July 04, 2020, 11:47:28 am
Forget about Rep bodies, unions, co-ops and all the other shite how about a marketing group?
Similar to:
Expert Hardware:https://www.experthardware.ie/
Expert Electrical:https://www.expert.ie/
LLoyds Pharmacy: https://www.lloydspharmacy.ie/ (https://www.lloydspharmacy.ie/)
Village Vets: https://www.villagevets.ie/ (https://www.villagevets.ie/)
ETC.
Does nothing that is contentious ie. dispatching, discounting, fare increases, most regulations (one or two aren't contentious)

Does:
Advertising: Advertise the benefits of using Taxis over other transport options (there are many)
Decals: Differentiate members from the plebs through the use of optional Decals, similar to FN Ambassador lackys
Regulatory: Interfere and lobby for Taxi drivers interests with regard only to those items that are non contentious (bus lanes/promotions) and ensure we are included and considered when public transport issues are being discussed. contentious items such as fare increases/age rules/vehicle standards etc should be left to the so called reps
Buying: bulk deals for:  Car servicing, meters, Roof signs, fuel, tyres or whatever

Probably need at least 1000 drivers paying a tenner a month for it to be a runner?
Employ a marketing firm and pay funds directly to them
Volunteer team of drivers appointed to interact with the Marketing company on members behalf (expenses only paid)

Exec Sum, Try to do those things that are not contentious and that benefit taxi drivers and stay clear of anything that might cause an issue,

Probably not, marketing isn't generally responsible, think chocolate and you'll be on the right track
