Green Party leader Eamon Ryan was caught dozing during a Dáil vote.
Green Party leader Eamon Ryan appeared to be asleep when a vote was called on legislation relating to lower-paid jobs.
The clerk of the Dáil called Mr Ryan, the Minister for Climate Action, Communications Networks and Transport twice, but both times he did not respond.
Footage appears to show him asleep in the Dáil.
He was woken up by the newly appointed chief whip Jack Chambers.
Other deputies can be heard laughing as Mr Chambers called to Mr Ryan to wake up.
Mr Ryan was caught sleeping during a private members motion brought by the Social Democrats which sought to strengthen the rights of worker during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Mr Ryan voted against the motion which was opposed by the Government and defeated.

He's an imbecile for falling asleep but a drug addict i don't know. I for one wouldn't mind if they did bring in Amsterdam style coffee shops and changed that ridiculous and damaging law which is presently so.

It would stop them in their tracks making money off a substance is relatively harmless and any joe soap can grow in their backyard but if caught can have lifelong consequences. It beggars belief the truth be known, in this day and age.

Eamon Ryan will remain as Green Party leader after seeing off the challenge of his closest rival and party deputy Catherine Martin by just 48 votes.
The total ballot was 1,950 with 1,940 valid votes. Ms Martin got 946 votes against Mr Ryan's 994.
I'd say he'll sleep well tonight O:-)
