"The Minister has agreed to a dedicated team within the Department to deal with workers in the Industry. She also clarified that musicians and entertainers could accept sporadic work without it affecting their PUP. The Department would also make entitlements under other Welfare schemes available to PUP if they are applicable and if the applicant fulfils the existing criteria.

45% of the fleet are still dormant,what do you think will happen when they return to whatever business is out there?,99% of drivers haven't got their own set of customers like you Roy and would be adversely affected when that happens if the country hasn't returned to some semblance of normality.
Most pubs still closed and the ones that are are limited hours,still rakes of people working from home,no nightclubs,Airport down 97% passengers,Cinemas open but hardly anyone going as there are no new film releases.

Occi would you ever stop talking sense .Watching the news yesterday some town in Galway population 600 number of Pubs 6 .What they are not telling people is most rural publicans are also farmers or small builders pub is just for pocket money like taxi driving . A lot of rural pubs are used as tax writeoffs by the owners .Ireland and the UK have designed their whole Social scene around the Pub and Bookies .People now drink at home and bet on line add in working from home and Society as we knew it will change ,Its just Rapid evolution .Started with Gutenberg and his Printing press men learned to read and write and think for themselves that was the beginning of the end for organised Religion and Monarchy .TV was the next leap forward then the Internet .Society is changing now every twenty years not every Milennium like it use to .Go back 60 years an unmarried mother was locked up in a laundry driving without insurance was an automatic jail sentence .Fourty years ago if you were Gay you could be Jailed and if you were caught with one tab of acid you were a junkie .Employers now know workers will work from home and cover the cost saving big on office space rental ,they also know they are back in control you do what we say or we let you go .High paid office jobs that were non productive are gone .Watch how we go back to the 50s women will be back in the house minding kids as childminding costs more than wages .Post WW2 the aim was to expand the economy by creating work now it seems they have no interest in creating work one computer properly programmed can do the work of thousands .The future will be replaced by the past Occi allotments ,bicycles,Candles ,Conversation.Our Generation born between 1950 and 1980 were the luckiest generation in the history of earth .We aspired to ownership of Cars ,Houses ,Foreign Holidays unlike our parents who grew up during the wars who aspired to three square meals .The shine is wearing of the polished shit Occi this is the calm before the storm .

I believe Ireland is in a very strong position thanks to the multi nationals that operate here who I believe will stay despite whatever cataclysmic event the ERM will come up with.

They like to go home regularly, say at least 4 times a year, that's 8 trips back and forth to the Airport. (some go home once a month)
Like the old Irish in America they have networks Whatsapp groups/facebook pages where they tell each other about the very reliable, good value taxi service, they use.
It doesn't take that many to keep you ticking over and now with Italy/Latvia/Slovenia/Lithuania all Green listed they are all beginning to make their trips back home.
You might not be able to steal corporate Google from the Dispatcher but you can make a grab for the personal use

A mask doesnt protect you from the virus, it can give you "some" protection, but not 100% protection.
It will be as bad as people are saying as their is F all work out there. No pubs/clubs/airport open to full capacity.
A vaccine is not the be all and end all. A fool would sign up to get it as soon as its rolled out. Not all vaccines are 100% side affect free.
