FN did their usual end of month Ritual sending one invoice to close off the month (27-7 to 31-7) on Monday, then a second invoice to close off the week (1-8 to the 2-8 ) on Tuesday.
The second invoice was paid and is in the bank, meanwhile the 1st hasn't been paid, you'd expect it to be the other way around.
I expect it'll be in the bank later today or it'll mean an inconvenient trip to Mount st

I worked Part-time for a debt collection company many moons ago, started off they lost major clients then payments were late , eventually they went bang.

Free Now, the taxi app that has signed up 14,000 Irish drivers, has blamed “technical issues” at a supplier for delays in paying taxi drivers their fares this week. It insists the drivers will be paid “over the weekend” but it is arranging a “contingency plan” in case this does not happen.
Many taxi drivers expressed concern this week after Free Now missed a Wednesday deadline to pass on payments to them for passengers who pay fares through its app, the second week in a row drivers say this has happened.
Drivers say they were told the money due this week would be in their accounts on Friday, but so far the payments have not been made.
In practice, this means that drivers this week have not been paid for any credit or debit card fares through the app, as most passengers now eschew cash in favour of contactless payments.

Free Now, the taxi app that has signed up 14,000 drivers in the Republic, still has not passed on fares due to Irish taxi drivers, after promising last Friday that they would be paid “over the weekend”.
It is the fourth missed payment deadline by Free Now in two weeks, prompting serious concerns from many taxi drivers over the issue.
On Friday, Free Now responded to concerns raised by drivers by blaming a “technical problem” at a third-party supplier of payment services to the company, which it insisted was the source of the delays. Free Now said the issue was being resolved, and that it was also putting in place a “contingency plan internally” to handle payments, in case its payments supplier failed again.
“We appreciate that this is unacceptable and thank drivers for their patience,” it said on Friday.
The delays mean drivers have not been paid for two weeks for any credit or debit card fares booked through the app; most passengers now eschew cash in favour of contactless payments. Card payments are usually passed on to the drivers once a week, minus the app’s commission of about 15 per cent.
Free Now is owned by German car marques, BMW and Daimler. Local reports in Germany suggest taxi apps there have been hit by the recent collapse of financial technology provider Wirecard, which went bust in the summer with a near €2 billion hole in its balance sheet. Free Now’s terms and conditions in Ireland list Wirecard as one of its payment processors. The company on Friday made no response to questions about whether Wirecard is the source of the payment delays in the Republic.
Drivers were told over the weekend directly by the Irish branch of the German-owned app that they would have the money in their accounts on Monday morning, but so far they have not yet been paid.
Free Now has been contacted by The Irish Times for further comment, but has not yet responded.

Thankfully this happens now, just a few weeks ago I traded up my Joe and after paying all the change-over fees my bank balance and savings was just a tad over Zero. Most usually my bank balance is healthy but fer a few weeks last month it was not, and if this had happened last month then it would have put me in serious Do-Do through no fault of my own.
Hopefully looking at another weekends Bobo to compensate ?

After years working in courier companies I realised the time spent checking everything never made up for any discrepancies.Sometimes you get a bit more sometimes you get a bit less.
The biggest robbery is the 15% commission.

There's an article in the Irish times about the regulation of the apps.The only thing I took from it was that some drivers are dumb enough to say they could be getting a grand a week.Some gobshites out there.

Doing the math suggests card takings of €485.60 during the bonus period. I guess with at least the same again in cash it was a pretty lucrative weekend.
Is Cork city as busy with staycationers as West Cork and Kerry. The consensus among locals in those parts is that they've never seen it so busy and staycationers have no problem pouring gargle down there necks without the fiddle and bodhran stuff they have to churn out to extract a few coins from the usual Yank clientele. I'd say the grossly overpriced souvenir shops are suffering though, hard to imagine a Dub being thick enough to pony up a ton and a bit for a sheepskin... word off warning though, some of them price their merchandise in both Euros and US Dollars and they will try to charge you the dollar figure in euros - how quaint - so pay attention if you are buying.
