Tipperary ‘could be closed down’ by Monday if local outbreak not contained (https://www.breakingnews.ie/ireland/tipperary-could-be-closed-down-by-monday-if-local-outbreak-not-contained-1014118.html) (BreakingNews.ie)
Tipperary could be placed into a localised lockdown by Monday if a Covid-19 outbreak at a mushroom plant there is not contained, a local councillor has said.
Walsh Mushrooms in Golden has suspended operations following reports 11 workers have tested positive for Covid-19. All 170 of its staff are now undergoing testing to assess if the virus has spread.
Fine Gael councillor Michael Fitzgerald said the next 48 hours will be crucial: "The worst-case scenario, the HSE people told me yesterday evening, is by Monday evening Tipperary could be closed down in the very same way. Hopefully that doesn't happen. "Let's hope in the next 48 hours the results will be good and it won't come to that," he said.
It is understood that the HSE is carrying out a wider testing programme of workers at the plant due to the high percentage of positive tests, although the overall number of cases is relatively low.

They might need Lowrys vote later so Tipp will get special treatment .
-
What special treatment? They closed down the Midlands because the incidence of Covid was eight times higher than other places.
Bigger the county the bigger the outbreak has to be to have a lockdown.

really how many cases in offally
-
Don't have the numbers but Dr Ronan said on the news they go by cases per population. They have a maths Professor on their payroll so I won't doubt them.
-
They make it up as they go Merc I would think they have an economist who decides who gets closed down .Imagine Kildare is full of fever yet people living in Kildare can travel to Dublin to work or a drink
-
I don't think it's a big conspiracy. The country will be in debt for decades over this Closing the country down is not something you do on a whim.

When the 3 county lockdown first happened, the country number was something like 10/100,000 but in 2 of the 3 counties, it was over 100/100,000.
Now the country number has shot over 20/100,000 and we're way higher than Germany, UK and most other EU countries.

How are the hospitalised numbers going does anyone know, or are they all just no symptoms or a bad flu?
-
That'd be a shame. We'll run out of places to stop on the way to/from the South(west) at this rate. Why can't the filthy fuckers follow HSE guidelines?
