Some people like stickers though octy. The NTA being a prime example with their county stickers and their door stickers and their little daisy stickers. Of course you also have the other ones who love stickers so much that they'll happily and gleefully and perhaps greedily put stickers on their car and pay someone to get their work for them. Stickers, you either love em or you hate em. I'm guessing you fall into the latter category, for now.

What’s the problem with them reducing the commission to 5% for those who are willing to advertise for them and leaving it at 10% for those who don’t want to? Surely that’s a fair proposition, I don’t see how it’s “pitting one driver against the other”.
If McDonald’s offered to pay half a drivers app commission in exchange for advertising their name, would that be ok?

I'm sure that he means pitting one driver against another across the licenced fleet, county, or national.

You are selling control of YOUR work to an OWNER OF AN APP who can increase the freight any time the like .If they can get 5% of a 5euro job =25c and make a profit why pay 10% on a 10 euro job -1 euro they have supplied the EXACT SAME SERVICE you have done more work .

Every company uses marketing, and it’s rarely free. If there’s no competition in the market you can be assured the freight will go up, taxy are not operating where I work, if they were my car would be first in the queue to market an alternative and lower cost app.

I've no problem korky with the commission ....wat I have got a problem is wer they start givin the licky lacky the jobs before everyone else .....that is putting one driver against the other and it isnt fair atall ...if these apps operate a level playing field I've no problem .....I'm not branding my car because I pay 100 % for it ....its not theirs....they have no investment in me or my taxi .....as it stands that ambassadors shit is designed to create division....freenow have a monopoly so why do they need stickers on yur car ?
They dont own me or my car ..its an app on a phone .....
I'll say it again ...nta needs to regulate freenow like everything else in the taxi business... especially now .
A reduction in commission for advertising is fine with me .....
But there a whole lot more going on than that and it's a dangerous road to go down because it will enable them to increase commission down the road because of that division and because the so called ambassadors will always believe they are sticking it up other drivers arses .....and that is the only reason they participate in it ...advantage over the competion ...but they dont see beyond this weeks money and ther digging ther own grave .......but we will all pay a price for it wen the time comes . It will be the "ambassador" who will be marching on mount street wen the commission goes up again ...and wen freenow introduces it's own cabs for rent only and the former ambassadors become normal scum like everyone else and they get all the gick jobs like everyone else ...not sayin I can see the future but me instinct

I don't see the same problems as you Octy, why you dislike FN so much mystifies me.
The banks would be my favoured disliked shower of scavengers followed on by solicitors, insurance companies, oil companies, phone providers, supermarkets, Etc, Etc.
They are all out to make money and none of them care if you live or die as long as you pay up.
Fer me FN works, I was out last night on a short shift (9.30pm to 2am) as an ambassador on all Gold status with priority till midnight and made just half over your weekly Covid pox in 4.5 hours.
Money is not a priority fer me but it is real handy stuff to have when the landlord and me ex misses want their weekly few quid, I also have the taxman and insurance man due in October and I really don't think any of the above named parties would be too pleased with me if'n I stated; "Sorry I ain't got it, money is way down my list of priorities !".

Yur fn bank statement doesn't really help
The only ting I spend me money on is food ....an I eat very well ....I trained meself after the gfc to live on nuttin and it works ....the more ya earn ...the more ya spend .......
Anyway if i really get in the shit I'll move in wit the owlone next door an rent me gaff ......
I'll put up wit the pussey hairs if itll mean food on the tables >:( :( O:-)
