Title: Free Now protective screens and suitability test
Post by: dubliner15 on August 27, 2020, 11:17:09 pm
for the last 2 months, I have been waiting to hear back from the NTA about the supposed mandatory introduction of face coverings in taxis. The latest response I received yesterday was the same as in July. It will be introduced "shortly".
They also now take 4 weeks to respond to emails.
My car passed the suitability test this morning, even though the examiner told me that the cable ties holding the protective screen in place should be pointing the other way, as the NTA considers that to be a "fail". Regardless, he passed the car out but told me I need to get it sorted.
Just wanted to have a rant about how incompetent the NTA are and to show where their priorities lie. They are an absolute disgrace and in my opinion are the poster child of everything that is wrong with this country. If anyone has direct contact details for CEO Anne Graham, please pass them on so I can vent my anger and frustration at her.

When you say "cable ties should be facing the other way"....i take it you mean that the sharp bit that's left should be on the driver/front passenger side?

Welcome btw.

everybody already thinks you havta wear a mask in a taxi so i would'nt worry.
if people wanna wear them they'll wear them. I'd say 80% of people getting in have one on.
15% will say do i havta wear a mask and I'll say no.
And the remainder 5% don't give a tinker's curse like myself.

Don't be a dick Ken.....when you pull the tie till it's tight there's excess cable, when the excess is cut it leaves a sharp edge....what i think dubliner15 is describing is that his cable ties are cut in the rear passenger side....i'm not saying that's the case but i could see why an inspector would say something.

Dropped a fello up to stoneybatter today and when I got back to Dunnes in Georges Street for me €2.95 wrap with Turkey,Coleslaw and corn I noticed a small bag on the floor where he was sitting, anyway checked and it was a Durex box with 1 unused condom in it, I fcked them in the bin. NO hole for him today.

And yes Hal its a bit like washing your feet with your socks on.
