If they introduced a vaccine on the second Tuesday in February and made it available .Would you get it ? Sometimes I feel a bit like yer one off the Telly Yet but no but yet but .I really dont know .We got our kids Vaxxed against Measles Mumps Rubella MMR and the BCG but when it comes to making the decision for yourself you start changing your mind .I got the Swine flu one .
If I had to make a decision right now ................I think I would say Yes .

The mad thing is the ones whinging about masks and the pubs being closed will be the first to quote something they read on Facebook saying that vaccines are dangerous.Then they'll be wondering why we still have to wear masks and can't reopen the pubs in 2025.

Loads of viruses floating around but we are immune to a lot of them.Some doctors recon the increase in asthma is caused by cleanliness our houses are hoovered and mopped daily back in the day the Mammy was to busy hand washing the clothes and peeling spuds no time to hoover or no hoover we got imune to the dirt and dust .You wouldnt know what toxic shite is frozen in the Artic when that cunt thaws the Dreaded Lurgy that Killed the Dinosaurs might be unleashed again .These Viruses crop up all the time .Black death,Small Pox Spanish Flu .More people died in 1956 in Ireland from TB than died from China Cough and no lockdown .This is the First televised Virus CNN ,BBC RTE ,filling dead air time with it .All the interesting news stories are uploaded to Facebook or Twitter by people with clever phones .Just an observation .No Nobel Prize winning Scientist has been rolled out on TV to warn us how dangerous this is mainly state employed Scientists employed by Universities ,Healthboards or Government departments .I know stuff now that I never would of known Like Dr Luke O Neill plays guitar and likes Bowie and Springsteen .

Britain is set to approve the COVID-19 vaccine developed by BioNTech SE and Pfizer Inc next week and deliveries would begin within hours of the authorisation, the Financial Times reported on Saturday.

The State plans to vaccinate more than one million of the country's most vulnerable against Covid-19 in the coming months, with hopes that the first of those could receive the jab as early as next month.
As preparations to inoculate the nation intensify, the National Vaccine Taskforce is also likely to propose a twin roll-out of the vaccine across GP practices and in regional hubs, the Sunday Independent understands.
The taskforce is likely to recommend a 'vaccine passport' to allow the health service to keep track of the immunisation process. Most vaccines will be administered in two shots, three weeks apart, to be effective.

I know the shops are reopening on Tues but I wonder if there'll be business for us in Dec. Come Tues, every other taxi driver and his flatmate will be out working and whatever work there is will be diluted to fukk all.
I took a spin around today with FN on but no roofsign. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. Drove down Parnell St and there was only me and another car on the road. Normally there'd be traffic jams 'cause the lights are all fukked up. Not even many taxis out on the road either. Drove up an empty Clonliffe Rd and only realised later that the Hurling semi-final was due to happen a few hours later.
I think with the Xmas bonus, I'll take that as my Xmas money and stay home. It'd be a huge kick in the nuts avoiding the virus for 8 months and then getting it 2 weeks before the Xmas dinner! Don't want to spend Xmas day in the boxroom with bits of turkey being pushed under the door at me :P

Know what you mean Watty but I have reached a point I need to get out .My hen is on reduced hours so cash is scarce .Also sort of hard to realize that nobody out there wants to put you on wages sent away about 80 CVs not one offer of an interview never mind a job .So sooner or later im going to have to return to work or park up and apply for the Dole .Also conflicted have sat at home and done as I was asked but cant do that for ever and like yourself I wonder what has changed now that makes it safe for me to earn 120 extra a week.Am I a stupid cunt for going out or a stupid cunt for staying in ?

One of the saddest things I saw today was a elderly taxi driver from Cabra out working. Don't know the man but he must be in his 70's easily. He's noticable because he still wears a tie and a cloth cap. When I'm that age, I hope I'm doing this job for a bit of fun and not because I have to. I used to think retirement would be great but after 8 months stuck at home... I'm not looking forward to retiring now.
I'd say it's safe enough to work the taxi. We haven't heard of huge numbers in Ireland getting the virus. Taxi/hacks/bus drivers in the UK got hit badly because of their ethnic backgrounds. Maybe get yourself a book and a flask of soup and park up in the suburbs near a park. Wait 30mins in the taxi for a hail then 15mins in the park. Rinse and repeat?

I turned up as usual at 5.30 am yesterday and today--lasted 4 hours before I wanted to commit Hari-Kari --toured all my hunting grounds--nothing but taxis parked in regular work spots, Drivers asleep, and on passing an hour later still there --imagine a Sunday and not a healthcare worker going to a Hospital or Nursing Home, even during the last recession they were there--total for 8 hours effort 40 Euro and 150km travelled !
Offered a couple of jobs miles away from known party houses which I never do --65 and heart condition is a fair deterrent so those of you who had a good nights sleep --well done you missed fuck all and I agree come reopening the world ,his wife and every illegal Taxi will be out there diluting what maybe around and all that will be left are the Party Houses and Drug Dens that we all wish to avoid at the best of times !

I need a Grand to pay car loan and insurance for Jan and Feb .Thats my cut off point if we are not out of lockdown by then Im going to renew my plate then give up with a full years renewal and an extra year to lapse before my plate becomes void ..There is no logic to this shit so you cant plan much .

The UK Govt is telling their hospitals to get ready to start lashing out the vaccine(s) from mid-Dec. Now that Trump is gone (more or less), they'll do the same in AmeriKKKa. And the EU won't be found wanting either.
Most of the people who have died from the virus so far were elderly. Nowadays, lots of people are still catching it but they're not dying so much because they're youngish. I'd say the various Govts around the world have made the financial decision to restart the world economy early 2021 and the deaths of a few more elderly are a 'cost of doing business'.
All the major power blocks (USA, UK/EU, Russia, China) have announced vaccines with over 90% efficiency. It'll be interesting to see who's telling the truth when they start injecting the entire population of the world!

The Government has agreed to indemnify five drug companies producing Covid-19 vaccines against any liabilities that arise from complications with their roll-out in the coming months.
The move is considered standard practice, but is also a precondition of accessing doses of each of the companies’ vaccine and signals the Government’s confidence in the jabs being approved for quality, safety and efficacy by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the coming weeks.
As preparations for the vaccine roll-out intensify, the Government was last night unable to say what the potential cost to taxpayers such an undertaking could be.
A spokesperson said it was evidence of the Coalition ensuring it was “fully prepared” for the vaccine roll-out and added it has “every confidence” in the EMA approving the potentially life-saving injections.
