Title: meter increase
Post by: taxi1990 on December 30, 2020, 03:36:49 pm
when are we going to get out increase, was it 5%? with the industry on its knees, would an increase not make sense? I think the minute you get into a taxi the meter should start at 5 euro. I got 4.60 off a miserable cow lately for a trip, she wouldn't even leave me the 5 euro, its ridiculous.

Mmm, the average pay for a surgeon in Ireland apparently is €52,644, yes driving a car shoud pay at least that.

The meter increase was officially postponed by the NTA.  They announced it in one of their newsletters, I think.  Can't remember why but presumably something to do with the pandemic.

here ya go... https://www.nationaltransport.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/SPSV_Industry_Information_Note_Web_Version.pdf (https://www.nationaltransport.ie/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/SPSV_Industry_Information_Note_Web_Version.pdf)

Can you update me on the introduction of new fares?
A National Maximum Taxi Fare increase of 5% was
due to be implemented in July. However, due to
the Coronavirus this has been delayed until further
notice.

I'm seldom pessimistic about the Taxi game but after this weekend I forsee a few very bleak months ahead.

January and February are usually crap anyway, we mightn't notice the difference.
