Gardai are on the hunt for a criminal who went on one of the most bizarre crime sprees the county's seen this year.
Officers in Crookstown and Macroom are eager for information after the oddball cut down three signs between Aherla and Coachford with an axle grinder.
A picture shows one of the signs cut clean off, and the crime has people scratching their heads as there doesn't seem to be any benefit or motive to doing it.
Seargant Triona O'Mahony described the incidents as "needless" to C103 and appealed for anyone with info to come forward.
She told Patricia Messinger: "Gardai in Crookstown are investigating three separate incidents of criminal damage to road signage which all occurred overnight on the 7th March sometime between midnight and 7am on Sunday morning.
"The public road signage was discovered to have been cut down using an axle grinder and they were just left thrown at the roadside.
"It was a completely needless act of vandalism.
"These would have been large metal road signs with significant value.
"It occurred in a number of separate locations but they were in close proximity in the Rooves Beg, Rathard, and Scart Upper areas near Aherla and Coachford.
"Gardai are anxious to hear from anyone who might have information in relation to those incidents.
"And if you do know anything we'd appreciate it if you contact gardai at Macroom or Crookstown Garda Stations."

Gardai had no idea about this guy, but after getting a search warrant and raiding his house, the signs were there! 8)
