Shortage of Drivers me Bollox .I applied for a job with United Drug to deliver medicines you needed an ADR cert I recently sat the exam I had a person in the company who was looking out for me .He said they got nearly 300 applications for two jobs from Drivers with Haz Chems as deliveries between Ireland and the UK have almost ceased as most Irish Companies are in Lockdown .He says the jobs are gone long before they are advertised .That advertising the Vacancies is just a way of using up the annual funding for recruitment and if they dont use it they might lose it in next years budget .This lad recons less than 10% of advertised jobs are actually available when the go up on those Job Sites .If you look at sites like Indeed you see the same jobs advertised every month .The average wage now for a driver is 12.50 an hour up to 7.5 ton and 14.00 for Arctics take it or leave it .
