Havent driven in the dark for over a year .Went over to Leixlip at about 6AM this morning horrible drive .The glare from oncoming traffic was brutal .Anybody else experience this or do I need an eye test ?
-
I think there's special anti glare glasses you can get john to help with this problem. I get it too when I'm tired and driving at night.
-
Just its a year since I last drove in the Dark so dont know if yoiu need to reaclimatise or if me lamps are going .
-
Could be John. You need to go back to work full time to save your mincers.

Im back tomorrow .Insurance came for their coin today so Im back insured as a taxi .Talking to a few local lads no money to be made but im pissed off sofa surfing at least if you are out and about you might hear of somebody looking for drivers .I would take any other job for a year or two .Out at Intel this morning thousands of people working on that site .I was watching a Dail Comittee today Paul Murphy the Socialist Up the Workers Millionaires Son was asking the Health and Safety Executive .If you are working in a non essential industry and your employer reopens what is the procedure for workers to rat and get them closed down . I tried going back john. The novelty wears off fairly rapid when there's no fares. But sure cmere if only for some mental relief go for it. Very hard at the mo id imagine for renters and high insurance drivers. The work is simply not there.

My younger brother is an actor over in Boston. He just finished a shoot for George Clooney who's directing a movie called "The Tender Bar". Starring Tye Sheridan https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4446467/. (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4446467/.)
A friend of mine does Extra Work down in Wicklow for a programme called "Vikings".
€130 a day, and maybe five minutes or less for a crowd scene. He absolutely loves it and would do it for free.

If your looking to get glasses most likely with your PRSI contributions you will get them fer about a Ton with a free eye test, what you need to have on the glasses is Anti Glare, this is what keeps the glare from your eyes fer night time driving.
-
Maybe you forget to turn your lights on JM
-
I had to pay extra for antiglare on my glasses. Not covered by PRSI
-
Should go to Specsavers.

Well worth the extra few quid.

Should go to Specsavers.
'Vision Express' after 40 years of wearing glasses and various opticians would be my preference.
-
I was at the chinese Take-Away the other nite and I said to the China Man "Are there any Chinese jews",
so he went away and when he came back he said,
"no, there's only orange juice, apple juice, and pineapple juice..."
-
Ha ha....another racist joke...Stepen Roache
-
Garda: "Can you identify yourself, sir?"
Driver pulls out his mirror and says: "Yes, it's me." C:-)rofl

There's one of them in Tesco's now, I'm due new specs so I might give them a try... What I like about Specsavers is that they always ask if you want a hearing test... to which I always reply yes, one sugar please... never gets old!
-
What did you say?

What endeared me to Vision express was that I went in years ago fer an eye test and was told that the increase in the lens was so slight that it was not worth my while changing glasses.
Me Chungwan worked fer Specsavers a few years back and she told me that they were instructed to sell every bell and whistle with every pair of glasses and to always push fer the second half-price pair.
-
I agree with that. I swapped over a few years back and the after service is great. Also it is easier to get a appointment, cos they are less busy. Anyone buy from the online speck companies. Just send them your prescription and costs only 20% of main street prices...If you have no PRSI.
-
I've applied for an eye test and other optical benefits, will let you know how I get on.

You have to have x amount of contributions I think

PRSI should cover your eye test in full and the glasses will be about half price.
If you are a night time driver then I would recommend the anti-glare feature, costs about 40 notes but well worth it to take the glare off incoming traffic by night. And avoid Specsavers, a mate of mine went to them a few years back just fer reading glasses and they fairly rode him selling him Two pairs of bi-focal glasses with all the bells and whistles fer a Monkee, and now he doesn't even bother using them.

Cheers Belker. The local guy is Donal McNally, so I'll arrange a test. There are only 3 Vision express shops in Dublin, which were beyond my 5km limit.
The nearest one is Henry Street in the city. A literal walking Petrie dish.

Any jokes ....Silver?
went to the Optometrists to buy some glasses the other day, you'll never guess who I ran into...
Everyone.

A guy sat next to me in the taxi and showed me a photo of his wife and said “She’s stunning, isn’t she?”
I asked “If you think she’s stunning then you should see my wife.”
He said “Why? Is she a stunner?” I said, “No, she’s an optician.” rofl

Up your street Cools:
A bloke goes to an optician carrying a violin case. The optician sits him down at his desk and asks " before I test your eyes do you have anything concerning you ? ". The bloke puts the violin case on the table and snaps it open and inside there is a shit the length of the case and nearly as wide.
The optician jumps up and screams " You dirty bastard, get out of my fucking office and take that with you " the bloke casually says " I did that " . The optician says " you did that ? it's a fucking doctor you want not an optician, now fuck off out". The bloke says " you don't understand... every time I do one of them, my eyes water" rofl

Last one:
A Polish immigrant went to the opticians for an eye test. The optician shows him a card with the letters:
C Z W I X N O S T A C Z
"Can you read this?" the optician asks.
"Read it?" the Pole replies, "I know this guy." 8)
