Title: Air Tax

What would be a reasonable surcharge on flights. Initially I thought the €500 COVID penalty would be a good starting point for a permanent taxation surcharge but I was listening to Joe Duffy the other day and a lad was saying three nights for a family of four in Kenmare goes for over 4 grand these days. At that rate Govt should be looking at a leaving town (by air) tax of at least €1,000 per ticket...

I expect Govt to redress the balance betwwen staycations and overseas vacations with a realistic tax on air fares, at least €753 per person per flight.
