Tánaiste Leo Varadkar has said this wave of Covid-19 infections, driven by the Delta variant, will peak at around 3,000 to 4,000 a day, if we follow the course of, say Scotland.
Mr Varadkar said vaccinations have made a big difference, and that the current mortality rate is a tenth of that during the Alpha variant wave of the pandemic.
In this current wave, the mortality rate amounts to 0.1 to 0.2 per cent. During the Alpha wave, it was 1-2 per cent. The current rate amounts to 10 deaths per 1,000 cases of Covid-19, which Mr Varadkar said was MANAGABLE
Mr Varadkar said that it was hard to predict exact data but hopitalalisations could rise to 400 or 500 people, and patients with Covid-19 in ICU could rise to 50.
However, he said that figure was also MANAGABLE

Now What is to Stop other Sporting venues like Gaa Clubs from holding Kids Games and Opening the Bar .This whole thing is shambolic .They should of stayed closed or just opened not this fucking half way house solution .Giving into the Publicans Lobby another few weeks and everybody would of been vaccinated ,or so Mick and the Traitor say ?The one thing is certain SF will get every vote from people under 30 who have been shafted by these stupid rules .

Personally I cannot see the pubs not reopening next Monday and realistically bar the Covid numbers going berserk or the vaccine not working I can't see them ever closing again. To add, the gov can't afford to reinstate the PUP that a lot of bar and restaurant workers will be signing off next week, if they close the pubs again then the PUP will have to be reinstated again.

Wait till you see the increase in Electricity in the next year or two when we have to pay VAT on the Power we import from the UK .We are building Data Centers all over the Country .The new one in Clare uses more Electricity than Swords ,we done a deal to supply multi billion dollar companies cheap power so domestic players will subsidise it .How the Fuck can Eamo the Cabbage agree to these Power hungry Centers when we cannot meet our domestic requirements of renewable energy add to that these buildings will be prime targets in any Cyber or Traditional war .Its a bit like putting a Kick Me sticker on our own arses .

Gardaí have identified “security concerns” at the new Dublin home Tánaiste Leo Varadkar is moving into with his partner Matthew Barrett, following a security assessment of the property.
Mr Varadkar receives a high level of Garda protection at present following a slew of threats. As part of this protection, specialist gardaí recently carried out a “security assessment” of the new home which his partner Mr Barrett, a cardiologist, has purchased.
