What is the solution to this? like I can give them masks but I just find it so frustrating at the fact drunks don't wear masks in taxis.
women saying they don't want to mess their make up with the masks, im fully vaccinated etc, its such a chore dealing with these people.
why are people so Blasé about this after a year and half of a pandemic? I keep seeing mini busses of groups of lads and none of them wearing masks.

I'm nearly fully vaccinated. The more I do this job the more I get the feeling most people are stupid. The same people who wont wear the masks will be the ones complaining when we are locked down again.

Tell them that face masks are mandatory in Taxies by NTA law since last December and there is an 80 Euro fine if caught not wearing one. That usually cops them on.

How do you handle the loopers who pretend they are exempt? The anti everything people? or even the people who are really exempt? their health is more important than mine I suppose. I should just catch covid and die because they find it hard to breath in a mask.

I do enforce it. I just find it very annoying dealing with drunks who act like covid doesn't exist. I have asked a number of exempt people to wear them.

What I'd do is tell them, listen mate put a mask on or get the fcuk out. If they try argue it's off with the engine, me out the car, back door yanked open and him being told we can do this the easy way or my way. I've done it more times with pricks trying to eat in my car when I specifically told them to put it in their pocket. Not wearing a mask would be no different.

1990 .I dont wear a mask or have a screen and dont expect passengers to either .Its ridicilous to think Billy the Bastard has been sitting in the Porter shop all day surrounded by baying humans exhaling all sorts and his clothing is absorbing it then he sits into your car transfering any germs onto the fabric of the seats in your insulated capsule and him wearing a mask is going to keep you any safer .If you fear going out dont go out other than that carry on as normal .More People will die from Drug abuse or Cigarette smoking than covid .We have seen 7 people drown in the last two weeks and no government campaign to wear a life vest .

1990 ......I just say nuttin an as merc says hope for the best but if you feel strongly enough about it .....have you tried locking the doors ? And requesting they put on ther masks before entry ? ....I think that's the only solution....easier said than done I know ....but it is the law an it's your health you are protecting.....
If they start protesting and immediately dont try to fit a mask you can just drive off ......yu don't need that type in yur car anyway ....there's another fare up the road

Horse if we follow your logic then why are we not asked to see the barcode or card before we take a passenger are our lives less important than some teenage pint server ..Why are Free Now not asking for your Green Code before they will let you book .I dont let passengers smoke because I dont smoke dont like the smaell but if I pick up sometimes I let passengers drink or eat .Its my car my business and up to me how I choose to run it .

If it was law to ask for a covid cert then I would be asking for it John. It's law to wear a mask so either they obey the law and wear it or get the fooking boat. Bit like seat belts really.

Pony the law says you cant smoke blow you disagree so you ignore that Law .Im ok with that .I personally dont do drug but its your body .Laws are made for the majority but not for everybody .This covid Con says we need 80% of people vaccinated so the Government are saying its Ok for 20 % not to be vaccinated .They must of taken that into consideration when they framed the Law .Look at this thing we only needed to needle the old now we need to needle the young now we need to needle the needled with a booster and Phiser and Moderna have jacked up the Prices .The Kinnahans have thought Governments how to go about their business exactly the same thing.

I work the Northside daytime and almost none of my passengers wear masks. Even a lot of the FN people don't wear masks. Lots of people paying with filthy cash now as well. Needless to say, the stretch from Ballymun over to Tyrellstown has/had one of the highest infection rates in the country.
At the beginning I thought about putting up a fight or even giving them masks but you'd have better luck stopping the tide coming in. We're on our own and nobody is gonna back you up. Get vaccinated, have a safety screen and wear a mask is the best you do. And keep your hands clean with alcohol gel!
In some ways, the pandemic is over. If you're vaccinated, you're unlikely to die, just get a bad flu. And the people getting infected in their teens and '20's are just getting a mild dose of it as well. Hospital numbers are fairly level as well.

The problem is every Critical care bed requires 8 nurses to look after the patient and we dont have enough qualified nurses so normal operations are being delayed as those nurses are working in Covid wards not recovery wards . The HSE was failing long before Covid its probably cheaper to keep somebody with Covid in a bed than do an operation and then use the nurses to look after the patient .Save on theater Staff and the money for the meter for the light .

Did something in history happen that I did not hear of ?
My understanding of Hong Kong was that the British ships in the early 1900's were importing opium on a massive scale in to China and the Chinese residents of Hong Kong bombed these British ships in protest, back then it was illegal to Bomb a ship but Opium was totally legal and as compensation to the British fer bombing their ships China granted them rule over Hong Kong fer 100 years. All international agreements were upheld with Britian handing back power over Hong Kong to the Chinese a few years back.

Your a braver man than me Horse, granted I will lay the law down in the cab and often shout and argue, but the GOLDEN RULE is to NEVER LEAVE THE CAB.
Your 50 and odd Horse and so am I, most of our troublesome customers are 20-30 males, if'n Push comes to Shove who do ya reckon will win out on the street ?

I know all about the Puffer fish as explained by Walter White in Breaking Bad, but at 50 n odd do ye really want to be taking on a 20-30 year old male out on the street.

If there's more than one I have the bar from my trolley jack in the door which would knock any cnut out, no exceptions. I also have a lot of mates only a phone call away. As I said, fcuk them, they don't want to play nice then either will I.
