Government told people in November that they would pay 100 Euro off of everybodies first Electricity or Gas bill in 2022 .Now it turns out as it involved money there has to be a budget amendment and the Dail has to pass it and the Power companies will need time to write the software to deduct the money from your bill so it wont happen before March .How many people were depending on that promised few quid to pay their Christmas Fuel bill .We live in a Banana Republic and nobody knows how to peel the Banana .

Stick your hand in your pocket and give somebody a ton .A lot of Pensioners or those on fixed incomes might need that ton to pay for extra heat over the Christmas .

Isn't that the truth. I honestly nearly gave up on claiming the €95 Motor Tax rebate... Print the form, fill it in, scan it, scan your VRC, scan your Insurance cert, scan the tax disk... then email the lot. FFS you'd earn a ton working for Free Now up above in Dublin quicker!
The whole thing is farcical since someone saw fit to appoint Mehaul to the office of An Taoiseach. They coulda given a worthwhile sum to those who need it e.g. folk on the Household Benefits welfare, possibly excluding immigrants.

So I can tax the road tax back? If so I'll do it on my days off.

It's a simple process:
1) Download a form from the internet
2) Fill in pages 1-3 of said form
3) Scan completed pages 1-3
4) Scan your certficate of insurance
5) Scan your Tax Disc
6) Scan your Vehicle Registration Certificate
7) Compile and email the above to NTA within 30 days of the motor tax issue date
8) Wait up to 20 days for the same to be processed
There's a postal option for those who are ill-equipped to complete the electronic process.

When you say 'scan' do you mean take a photo and upload it ?

Sorry, I missed a step in the above which I put down to old age, early onset dementia or some such. The amended process is as follows:
1. Download a form from the internet
2. Print said form
3. Fill in pages 1-3 of said form
4. Scan completed pages 1-3
5. Scan your certficate of insurance
6. Scan your Tax Disc
7. Scan your Vehicle Registration Certificate
8. Compile and email the above to NTA within 30 days of the motor tax issue date
9. Wait up to 20 days for the same to be processed
I guess you could photograph the documents instead of scanning. I don't think there's any restrictions on format. There's no facility to upload anything though, it must be submitted by (electronic) mail.

Cheers RC, all I have to do is buy a printer/scanner. 8)

I don't think so SB, all you need is someone to print the 3 forms fer you (Korky is doing mine) and after that it's only fill out the 3 forms and take photos of the forms and required documents and upload them to the email and send them all off.
Would that be correct Stephen ?

Not sure what you mean by upload, there is no online form or upload facility. You attach the pictures to the email or enclose for physical mail.
I'll print a form off and throw it in your letterbox when I'm passing, SB. There's no great hurry, you have 30 days from the date the tax disc is issued.

Thanks, RC. The actual disc arrived in the post today, so I'm safe to work the 'lock and the 'mun without getting machine-gunned! 8)

No, you can't but if'n you can get a friend to print, deliver and post said forms to you, then said friend might be on a 50/50 basis !!
