Title: Dream Car ?
Post by: Belker on March 27, 2022, 01:51:21 pm
Taking it that most of us on here are a tad over the Fifty mark, say if'n you won the lotto and had all your family looked after and had the house you wanted all done up, jacked in the Taxi plate and still had a small few million left over.

What would your Dream practical car be just to drive around town and go to the shop or on holidays ?

If that came true for me, I would have no interest in owning any type of car, I would hope to never have to drive again, and would be very happy to take public transport everywhere.

I'd buy a banger and every time someone annoyed me on the road, I'd crash into them.  Then I'd throw them €50k and tell them to fuk off and stop annoying me  >:D

That's what the skobie Mc Gregor does, he hits someone in a fit of anger, then hands them 20K not to sue, allegedly.

I'm inclined to agree with BS i.e. ifn I could afford not to drive I'd have little or no interest in doing so... but, maybe, a 3/4 year old Seat Ibiza with dual controls!

I would like a 00C silver petrol avensis and spend a good few quid on it to make it as good as new.
IE. engine overhaul, custom made seat covers, very expensive valet, new wheels, total re spray and basically replace anything that can be replaced like wipers, lights, etc..

When I met Mrs. Bullet I told her I had a purple VW, she thought I meant a Beetle, when in fact it was a VW Golf 1.4.
Nice car and used as a Hackney for the first three years.

Laffin, I’d have a few hapes given half the chance.

Currently own a 1986 Volvo 740, 1990 Carina II, 1992 Carina E, 1999 Avensis as well as the wanked out french converted panel van.

Money no object? 1990 BMW E34 535i, 1980’s Rolls Royce Silver Spirt, and probably a Mercedes S500 W140, ohhh and a Alfa-Romeo 164 I know IWFTSTS had one when he was a pup, I’m extremely jealous Frank!

I think I saw my old Primera in Finglas yesterday for the first time in a decade.I got really excited for some reason.Cant explain it.I think I miss when cars smelt and sounded like cars.I never remember complaining about cabin noise in that yoke. Probably because the engine was screaming.

I dunno if I saw my current heap in ten years would I still be as excited.Cant upload a picture for some reason..

They’re fantastic cars, I’m not really into Italian stallions but I think they’re absolutely gorgeous. Current market forces means you couldn’t get a bad one for under €5k

I'm liking the old Bedford idea, if money was no issue then pick up an old crocked one and do it up to perfection without going full Gotham garage on it.

I've had all those 3 in the past, firstly an Orion which is the Escorts twin brother, I gave it to the misses when I bought a 9-Y-O BMW 520, defo the Beamer best car I ever had but God himself could not afford the maintence costs.
I had a lovely Mondeo but wrecked it ignoring the nua speed ramps and ended up trading it with 18K fer a family 7 seater.
I also had a basic ugly Sierra fer a few months, hated the yoke.

Thanks fer your input Bubba, that's a pretty fascinating list you have but they are not practical fer just about town.

My Dream unpractical car would be an old classic Cadillac Eldorado but as it is such a head-turner and with my dislike of the Limelight then unlikely that I would ever drive it.
