Title: Suitability renewal
Post by: John m on June 27, 2022, 09:44:39 am
It says that the meter must be sealed .So whats the story for anybody who gets the new metered fare uploaded to a meter and has the SGS before they can get a reseal .Is that a fail and will you have to pay for a retest ?

PLAN .We know we are getting an Increase on 1st September but do we know when the Meter Men will have the update or if the Weights and Measures men are hiring more staff .How the fuck can you plan in chaos .

It appears to be a fail, ie retest required

This list shows the most common fail items recorded over recent months at vehicle inspections and should be used in conjunction with the Inspection Manuals. Taximeter and Printer:  Is my taximeter sealed with the official verification mark signifying conformity with the Metrology Act 1996? (Renewal Assessment only)

Why not wait the 2 months & give the authorities a chance before getting upset?

And why stress out over something you'd no control over?  If the meter men and metrology do get organised on time, you can whip out your calendar and plan.  If they don't meet the deadline, you and the other 16,000 taxi drivers will be in the same boat until it gets sorted.  Then... get out your calendar  :P

No, if you have a booking appointment fer a reseal then you will pass suitability.
