Never paid to get my car serviced always bought the parts and done it myself, recently bought a service kit for my heep and was astounded to handover €112 for oil and fuel, air and oil filters, 4L of Castrol and midrange brand filters. Same place I always have bought it. Protested at being suspect of being turned over the fellah behind the Jewish piano said “sure every thing has gone up in price”.
That said how much are ya paying for yer heep to be serviced.

I can get the 4 liter of oil, air filter and the oil filter plus the pollen filter for my Toyota for about €56 delivered from Micksgarage.I don't like to put the small parts guys out of business but they gave me incorrect parts a few times and I never went back.I also used to put the original service parts from Toyota on but the price difference was too big to ignore.So now I put the cheapest I can get in it and it's running fine.
I recently stopped using the expensive Magnatec oil and now use the Bolk brand with the same spec and my problem oil consumption has magically decreased.Maybe the magnatec was too good for my heap.
I was looking at my service records from ten years ago and I used to be able to buy a cheap tyre for €55.Cheapest I could find last time was €110.If I could find a cheap fitter I could buy them separately and save a little but it's more hassle.

In the new Gretta from Sweden type world .How to you get rid of used engine oil .or filters .There are places you can dump old electric goods but where do you dump oil ?

North Strand and Ringsend Recycling Centres take engine oil but probably with a charge. Maybe €10-15?

Coolmine recycling take oil amd paint too.Possibly for free.Last time I did a huge clear out I had about 80 liters of used oil I had to dump.
Next time you're down in Spain count how many leccy cars you see and you'll find only about a handful a day.Oil will be around for another while yet.

I used to pay 100 for a service now it's gone up to 120. That's in either square fit in finglas or square fit in tallaght.

I just serviced my heap last Sat....€55 for 5L Maxol Prosynth C2,air filter,oil filter,cabin filter and Holts One Shot screenwash,I throw Tom who owns the workshop €20 for the use of the lift and air tools(if needed)...I always remove the slide pins on the brake calipers and clean them off on the wire wheel and regrease before refitting...Good for another 15k.

Screen wash ye posh fuk.I fairly sure one of my caliper pins issiezed but I really can't be bothered repairing it.

The rear caliper pins on my previous Prius were a cunt for that,nearly every service I had to struggle to get the fuks out,the fronts were never a problem!!
Yeah screenwash.....I always treated my baby to some...you do strike me as someone who'd just throw some Eurospar own brand washing up liquid into your heap...and you'd consider that luxury!!

Re servicing costs: I've put a note in my diary to check the brake pads on my EV in late 2023 rofl
On a serious note, I think the annual service on my EV is about €180-200 for them to plug it into a computer and see if everything is ok. Then maybe brake pads and window wipers...
After that, I reckon I'll be changing the tyres more often than a petrol or diesel. Did my NCT this week and I've used half* (3mm) of the thread on my front left tyre after 25,000 km. It took a while to get used to the torque when turning right at junctions in damp conditions and I reckon that's why the left tyre is low-ish.
* I'm assuming the tyres started at 6mm when new!

Will you rotate the tyres ?

Right front is where the driver sits too Watty..just swap the left and right front around until next year and you'll be fine.Once th warranty is up tell the dealer to get stuffed.
Also if it's front wheel drive the power might only get applied on one side.That's the way my Prius is setup for some reason.

As an aside.....I don't have to dispose of my old oil,just drain it into the workshop oil collection apparatus!!

Looking at the price of new tyres, I might have to!
Having said that, the car has a tyre pressure monitoring system so might need to look into that.
