If you are operating a Semitron Mirror meter and having problems clearing fares .When you complete a fare and press button one to stop the meter .You then press it again to clear the fare it may not work if the vehicle is moving .You must clear the fare while stationary according to Skan .

that's how every meter i've had works.
you can't stop the meter ticking or end the fare while the car is moving.

My mirror semitron I cud use while driving...since update I have to come to a complete stop..kinda annoying at times

Thanks for letting us know could of saved me half a morning driving across the city to get it checked out .

I was wondering that there was something different about the meter, I thought the button was failing and I was pressing it harder than normal. So that confirms its across all meters. Wouldn't ya think they would let us know about update changes instead of us going on a fact finding mission everytime its updated.

My Hale mirror meter is like that,has been since I purchased it back in 06,my previous Hale meter could be started/stopped doin 120 up the M1.

Mines an alberen doc. I can just leave the little door open on the printer and it doesn't print. A roll lasts me about a year.

If I switch the car off and then stop the meter it won't print,just says "no print"...but I would be stopping the car everytime a passenger doesn't want a receipt...which is pretty much everytime!!

Yesterday I went back up to Skan as after my fare increase the printer was using 30% more paper than before. The bloke was unhelpful and said he could do nothing about it.Another waiting driver mentioned that his printer could be stopped by opening it.Mine doesn't do that.
In the end I just pulled out the roll and will reinstall it once every few days for the occasional passenger that needs a paper one.Dunno I why I didn't do this before.At one stage I had used receipts all over the car rammed into every cubby hole.What a waste of paper.Good complaint I suppose.
Also a box of rolls have gone up at least 25% since before covid and it's a pain in the bollox if Ya run out.

I have a box of Credit Card machine Rolls I got a few years ago they are the same size as the printer ones .Ask Bridget Keogh from the Flats near the Church if she has any spare .

I use to have problems with the Taxitronic Meter if the Printer did not work .Meter would not clear .

My meter works fine without paper in the printer.It still makes the buzz buzz noise without the roll in it.
By the way thr NTA could change the requirement to automatically print out receipts overnight.They already ditched the sticky fair card requirement without asking anyone.
