Dublin Bus will begin new G-spine services including G1, G2 and Route 60 from Sunday.
G1 and G2 will operate for 24 hours - taking passengers between the Red Cow, Liffey Valley and the city centre.
The new Route 60 will serve areas such as the Red Cow, Clondalkin and Ballyfermot.
Dublin Bus is doing away with the 79, 79A and 40 bus routes to make way for the new services.

I wonder if they'll be like the Nitelink buses - Leap card & coins only, no paper money, & no paying with yer phone! No compulsory card machines for them :-\

Dublin City Bus Annual, Monthly, Rambler, Visitor and PSC Free Travel are all valid on Nitelink services. You can pay on the bus with coins only. Please note that banknotes are not accepted as our bus drivers do not handle cash therefore no change can be given.

Driver shortage forces delay in roll-out of new bus routes in Dublin (https://www.sundayworld.com/news/irish-news/driver-shortage-forces-delay-in-roll-out-of-new-bus-routes-in-dublin/773457575.html)
A driver shortage has forced a delay in the roll out of new bus routes in Dublin, including new 24-hour services, it has emerged. Tim Gaston, director of public transport services with the National Transport Authority (NTA) said the lack of available drivers has held up their timetable in terms of the redesign of the city’s network.
It's almost like people don't want to work nights for near-minimum wage dealing with drunken cokeheads fighting and brawling all over the place! Crazy world.
-
Prior to covid the NTA wouldn't even allow security screens and still doing their best to continue to not allow them,NCT will fail if they don't have a CE mark...is there even a screen with a fukin CE mark?.....inanyways I wouldn't even consider working nights now without one.
-
Why is the focus always on pub chucking out time whenever a 24 hour bus service is mentioned? What about shift workers starting between 23:30 and whenever the first bus is?
-
AIUI, the new night buses are the day buses but with different frequencies - 30 mins before midnight & 60 mins after midnight.
From what I hear, the night drivers won't do the 'short runs' that shift-workers ask for.

I'd like to see a mass influx into CIE by Afghanis and PAKS.
