Email from the lovely Lucy:
Your additional layer of protection
We constantly work towards finding effective ways to keep you protected during your Bolt ride. That’s why we have two safety buttons in the app – Share your ETA and emergency assist.
While your trip is in progress, open the Bolt app and you’ll see the option to “Share your ride details”. Your loved ones will be able to see exactly where you are, and when they can expect you to arrive. Your location will be visible in real-time on the map.
Despite all of the safety measurements, sometimes things don’t go as planned. That’s when our emergency assist button comes into play — it triggers real-time safety emergency alerts, allowing you to access ambulance services, the fire brigade, police and armed response.
It’s like having two personal bodyguards with you during the trip. Feels safe, right?

Armed response :o :o :o
Are these protections for the driver or the passenger or both? Just askin' :P

I remember when Gavan Walsh's ole-fashioned Die Cabbi App was taken up by Shitty/Global Lymp, it had a big red button that reads "PANIC"...Arseholes.

Good idea. Bolt has a SOS button too.

What do you press when your phone is stolen?

The panic button...oh wait!

A physical button would be better but I guess something is better than nothing. It may well serve to prevent your phone being stolen, I guess.

Using morse code, you type out SOS on your roofsign? Think I saw it mentioned in the NTA's taxi bible...

Don't be minding all that shite and bollocks, when it goes shit-faced in the cab by night, your on your own.
The perpetrators will be long gone by the time the SOS message is even answered.
Our job, and not an easy one to play is to make sure it doesen't go shit-faced in the cab.
If in doubt, play your mark; Yes Sir, No Sir, 3 bags full Sir !
And the Golden rule; Never exit the car during an incident, EVER !
