I met a guy in the cab who played trumpet professionally for the last twenty years. His hero is a guy called Uan Rasey who played on films like Chinatown.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36NqbudSHVU (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=36NqbudSHVU)
While looking up Uan, I found this guy who's absolute class. A must for any Jazz/Blues fan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2CyGu7OEt4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2CyGu7OEt4)

Do you notice both - for the most part - rest their pinkie beside the scratch plate?
Chet using a thumbpick, Mark using just a thumbnail.

RTE radio 1 on Sunday night/Mon mornings plays 'Gold', I only discovered it last week on a way out of town long job.
The real Goodies from the old time like 'Mull of Kintyre' (Wings), 'Baby Love' (Supremes), 'Dixieland' (Elvis), Etc ...
-
Shite station, everyone is far right anytime I had it on I erased it from the memory. The only ones I have on the display is 4 locals, RnaG and lyric. Most of the time radio is off and I'm tuned intointo reality.

*If* I think about it, I tune in Spin if the passenger looks under 25 and Todayfm is over 25. Have Lyric as a fav just in case but only asked for it once in 15+ years!
Todayfm have a 1hr Sunday morning show where they play only Irish (rock/pop) music. It's not bad, something different.
But who remembers 'Sunday Morning Coming Down'. Can't remember the (pirate?) station but that was a brilliant show.

Very little Doom and Gloom on RTE 'Gold' or Classic hits 4 FM by night, just the old classic's.

They still have news which I don't want to listen to anymore.

RTE 'Gold' have a short news summary on the hour by night, Classic hits 4FM have 1 add on the hour during the night.
But as you don't work by night or indeed Work at all, Who cares ?

Just because I'm having a little break does not imply I'm some kinda layabout Ken. I reckon you wouldn't know a hard day's work from the inner workings of an mri machine. I've probably worked more in 20 years than you've worked your entire life. Ye lazy git.

3am till 5.30 AM for one lad and Sunday Nights for another .Do you have any time for living outside of the Car .
-
Done the guts of 9 hours myself yesterday, erm... starting at 15:01, soon after Sunday luncheon, Sunday luncheon without a glass of wine or a whiskey with the post dinner smoke. I don't think people appreciate the sacrifices we make. I went out to dinner once last week... on a Wednesday and I can't remember the last time I went to the public bar... although, I'm not sure if that's down to my ever diminishing memory function or because there's an inordinately relatively long gap evolving between visits.
-
While I'm feeling sorry for myself I should add that my Sunday supper was served in a paper bag, wrapped in more paper, accompanied by a paper cup of coffee... wolfed down behind the wheel of a small automobile.

Listening to Talking Heads.
And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself, "Well, how did I get here?" 8)
