I'm not on the reserve fleet so I'm not sure how this happened but I covered a "reserve taxi" job last night without noticing until it was too late... Already POB.
As I understand it that means the client paid a fare of between €6 and €11 more than Free Now will pay me (before commission) for the job.
I'll be checking for and cancelling any such jobs going forward. When you expand the text box containing job details upward (as you do to stop and restart navigation when it stops itself) you will see the identification of the job as "reserve taxi".

Reserve Fleet.....are they the new new licky lackys?
-
Most jobs on free now pre books are called reserve where I understand the customer pays 10 euro or so to book the taxi .
The drivers don't get this 10 euro charge
In a nutshell....free now are wankers
-
I don't know what a Tracker Mortgage or a Reserve Taxi is ,wtf is it?,tell us FFS...
-
So what's the difference between the old booking and the Reserve booking?
-
10 euro on the customers bill.
-
I don't understand why customers are prepared to pay that. I'd say next in the cross hairs is the commission rate. 18% I'd imagine. Although they could go all out and up it to 20%. Like the passengers, there will be enough drivers left who are willing to pay that. And on and on it will go. Pure madness. Surely its time for regulation of these apps. Everything has moved so much forward in the last few years that it's like the wild west out there.

How about this one.....
Hello Wingnut
I'm contacting you regarding a trip that was marked as complete instantly on 05/02/2023 at 01:10 from R106, 6 Malahide IE to Biscayne, Malahide IE. The passenger contacted us claiming the trip wasn't completed and he was charged the full amount.
I've deducted the amount from your account.
If there is anything else I can assist you with please do not hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,
Now the thing is I called this customer to tell her I was outside so definitely got the right person 110% sure of that. Surely they can see where I dropped the fare too?
Anyway I replied to the email and got an automated response as follows
Hi Wingnut ,
Thanks for your response.
You cannot charge for a trip that is not completed. In such situations you can and should request for a cancellation fee.
To request a cancellation fee, please enter and submit the words "SCRUB PAYMENT" in the feedback box below.
Currently, FREE NOW pays your cancellation fee, not the passenger. It is therefore important that you do not charge customers cancellation fees.
Cancellation fees are paid on the following grounds.
If a passenger hail or trip is cancelled you may be entitled to a scrub payments.
We will review the details of the trip in question to determine if it meets the criteria for a scrub payment.
The criteria are:
Driver Cancellation where
Arrived at the pickup location
Attempted to phone the customer
Waited at least 5 minutes
Abandoned the job
Travelled at least 10 minutes or 5km when the passenger cancels prior to or just at arrival to the job
Customer Cancellation
Customer has cancelled after 5 minutes
Driver has proceeded directly to the pickup location Prebook Cancellation
Prebook cancels within 30 minutes of the prebook pick up time Scrub payments will appear in you payment statement
If there is anything else I can assist you with please do not hesitate to let me know.
Best regards,

Can yu clarify ratti ... am i understanding yu correctly? I'm imagin ther takin part payment before the journey ? Of between 6-11 euro obviously tru the apes credit card ....then they take the remainder at the end of journey.....rather than taking 6-11 euro extra on top of the metered fare ?
-
So we get nothing extra?
-
So what's the difference between the old booking and the Reserve booking?
Basically FN changed the old wording of 'Pre-Book' to 'Reserve taxi', it means the exact same thing.
The only difference with the old and new wording is they now charge €3 in Technology fee fer a 'Reserve taxi'.
Other increased technology fee's apply fer other larger multi-seater taxies + Limo's, Etc.

If you are a FN driver then you are what is called the Reserve fleet regardless of ambassadorship or not.
The Reserve fleet is simply those that do pre-books, or not.
The wording Reserve taxi which used to be Pre-book was introduced at the same time as the basic €1 technology fee was increased fer a basic saloon cab to a €3 technology fee fer Reserve taxies.

They seem to have got the wrong end of the stick there, Wingnut. I'd give them a ring if I were you. I've had jobs in the past where the client has claimed not to have taken the ride, suggesting I picked up the wrong passenger(s) but I've always got paid. Sure there'd be more than one "Mick" pouring out of the Wright Venue at closing time back when the Wright Venue was a thing. If the client doesn't notice someone else has taken his taxi and cancel it's hardly the driver's problem.
I'm not sure I can explain it any better than I've already tried, Octy. As the screenshot from an older thread ( http://intaxi.org/forum/index.php?topic=15424.msg224727#msg224727 (http://intaxi.org/forum/index.php?topic=15424.msg224727#msg224727) ) shows clients can opt to pay a higher fare for a reserve taxi, in that case an additional €10. Obviously, as a normal taxi was also available at the time the screenshot was taken it's unlikely anyone would opt for the reserve man... so I assume the reserve option was the only option presented to the client I inadvertently drove, although I don't understand why that would be the case as I was obviously available and I'm not on the reserve fleet. Some say the reserve fleet is only for prebookings but that's clearly not the case, as per the aforementioned screenshot.
I'm not sure how they collect the fare as I was paid in cash and only collected the metered amount plus a small gratuity. I know if you use a card on the Free Now app you are charged the full fare before the journey commences. That has been the case since SCA was introduced to the banking system. I assumed the amoiunt charged was a deposit which would be balanced with the actual fare when the job was completed i.e. the way Uber does it but I have had several clients request printed receipts because they weren't being refunded the balance of deposits paid or were being charged significantly higher fares than recorded on the taximeter. In fact, one young lady suggested that Free Now charge "way more" than they pay drivers and went on to explain her experience of drivers cancelling and being charged multiple times for the same journey and having to enter into a chain of email correspondence extending to 12 weeks to get her money back. I had but a few of four letter words to comfort her... Bolt, Lynk, Uber...

So if I click on a "Reserve Taxi" job am I on the subs bench or am I the actual taxi? ::fuck ::fuck

where are you getting this reserve fleet thing from rats.... there is no such thing as reserve fleet, only reserve taxi which is for customers. It's just another meaning for pre book but it's dearer....all taxi driver's can take a reserve taxi booking. It's not limited to a certain amount of taxes. I really don't know where your getting this reserve fleet thing from.

I told a punter last night that the fare from Finglas East to the 'port was €23.80, any more taken from their card is overcharging.
I think "Reserve"may be the new name for pre-book.

Jaysus ! The Penny Dropped eventually !!
Maybe you could explian it to Ratcatcher as well as he doesen't seem to believe me.

Free Now seem to be doing everything in their power to piss off customers and drivers;
Two months late paying out the Sept/Oct driver Circle K voucher Bobo.
Non automatic payment fer scrub fee's which we were told were automatic.
The "UP TO" €600 drivers Chrimbo Bobo was farcial, I was only offered €295 worth in total.
The introduction of the €1 technology fee to customers.
The increased technology fee to customers ranging from €3 to €10 fer Pre-books/Reserve taxi.
Are they puposefully trying to piss everyone off ??
-
I feel it's the actions of a company that still thinks it's a near monopoly like it was 5 years ago.
History is full of arrogant companies who thought they could do whatever they liked and the customer would put up with it.
I feel that Uber will overtake them fairly soon.

Can one reserve (pre book) a taxi by selecting cash payment?

That doesn't make any sense. Sure I've opened the passenger app and been presented with Taxi and Reserve Taxi as 2 distinct options for an instant hail, the reserve taxi being €10 more expensive. Here's the screenshot:

In any event, I'll not be covering reserve taxi jobs either way. You'd have to be a complete and utter idiot to let Free Now charge an extra tenner and give you nothing out of it.

and that's the only difference....they are charging the tenner just to pre book. Sure it's the same car in the screenshot because the car is 3 minutes away on both options.

3 mins away isn't a prebookings by any stretch of the imagination.

Your like a dog with a bone on this one !
Most likely the screenshot you took on the CUSTOMER APP was a tad on the dodgy side as we all know the app has many glitches. Generally speaking a 'Reserve' saloon taxi incurs a €3 technology fee.
The 3 minutes away fer the Reserve taxi is just showing the same screen as fer Instant hails as to how near the closest taxi is to you.

The prices shown are estimates, the larger figure being the maximum pre authorized on the card --the actual figure charged will be the price inputted by Driver plus the 3 quid booking fee !
They are fleecing the Punters and screwing the Drivers on scrub fees --hate the fuckers !
-
I did notice in the screenshot above there was no mention of the €1 Technology fee fer Instant hails, but I suppose as instant hail jobs are also accepted as Cash jobs then the €1 Technology fee might not apply.
-
To be honest, Ken they can come up with all the excuses they want. I don't do prebookings already, I've now extended that to exclude anything marked "Reserve Taxi".... but, the customer app also says card payment is necessary to hire a reserve taxi... more bollox, the one I got was cash, dispatched as non-app payment.
