If I've got my timezones right, a Japanese private spaceship will attempt to land on the Moon tonight around 5.40pm. It's being livestreamed on YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/live/CpR1UUnix3g?feature=share (https://www.youtube.com/live/CpR1UUnix3g?feature=share)
Quite a contrast seeing as FN seems to crash and break every other day!
Watch Live as Private Mission Attempts Groundbreaking Landing on the Moon (https://gizmodo.com/watch-live-as-private-mission-attempts-groundbreaking-l-1850370560)
Tokyo-based company ispace is hoping to make history on Tuesday by landing the first private mission to the Moon’s surface and deliver its many payloads.
The Hakuto-R Mission 1 (M1) lander will attempt to land on the Moon on April 25 at 12:40 p.m. ET. The celestial landing will be aired live through ispace’s YouTube channel, and you can also tune in to the nail-biting action through the feed below. The live feed is scheduled to begin at around 11:00 a.m. ET.
If M1 manages to stick the landing, Japan’s ispace will become the first private company to land on the Moon. In 2019, Israel’s private Beresheet lunar lander attempted to land on the Moon but ended up crashing on its surface.

Looks like it landed on time but maybe crashed as they can't talk to it. Maybe the Greens have it right - we should all go back to walking and bicycles!

Looks like there's an Irish angle!
Samples made in DCU due to land on the moon (https://www.rte.ie/news/dublin/2023/0425/1379065-moon-samples/)
A lunar rover carrying samples developed in a lab at Dublin City University (DCU) is due to land on the moon later today. The polymer and metal samples were produced in the School of Chemical Sciences and were affixed to the wheel of the Rashid Lunar Rover to study the way moon dust sticks to different surfaces.

Thanks Watty, was unaware of this mission, and not even 75 years after the bomb, a great achievement, and the info so much more user friendly to follow in all the other lead up videos to this event. The construction, and remote control of these missions at such an enormous distance is awsome. Had to switch off early, so unsure if 100% success> Makes me really regret that I won't live forever.

It crashed.... just like jasmy lol

I think it did get there in the end... It just got there a bit too quick and BANG! oops
It took a nice photo on it's way there. This is a photo of Earth during a moon eclipse and you can just about see the shadow of the moon on Earth! (click the image to make it bigger or not)

The landing craft was nicknamed Irene after the designer's mother. 8)
