Who are the best brokers to contact?
LOL, tell us who your current insurer is? If we all replied 'my current insurer', you'd be none the wiser

AXA

I'm with them too over 25 years, better the Devil you know sort of thing.
I always call in 'in-person' and always get a 10% discount when I ask fer a reduction.

AXA have the best cover and have been the cheapest the last few years.
They sent put my documents with lots of wring info on them, had to get them to change it.
Last year they posted me some taxi drivers in Dublins insurance along with my own.

Typical taxi driver... always looking for discounts. Taxi Fair (FBD) was best for me for the last few years... but ring them all just to be sure,

It's the customers who always want the discounts, especially the rich Dublin customers.
Will give them a shout.

A few years back Horse posted his insurance renewal details at about 1700, as we both had kinda similar Toyota cars, very similar in age, price and year I was expecting the same quote, but my Avensis insurance quote was a whooping 250 Euro more than Horse's Prius.
So I went in to my AXA branch in-person when I got me 1950 renewal fee stating that my mate Taxi colleague who is from the pox slums of Fookin Tallaght and drives a Fookin Gay-mobile and has not got the most reputable reputation ever got a 1700 quote. Off goes 'yer-man-o' insurance salesman into a back room fer 5 minutes (prob releasing one off-the-wrist) and comes back with a 1750 quote !

That sort of thing annoys me. If AXA could have quoted you €1750, they should have instead of trying to screw you for the €200.
I was with AXA/BJP for years and was always quoted over €2k. I went with Taxi Fair/FBD and got something like €1,400 (I think). BJP rang me when I didn't renew and I told them about Taxi Fair. He offered to try and price match but I said it was too late.
If you're a taxi driver with over 10 years experience and no history of football or drug dealing, the insurance companies should see us as a good bet and quoting us good prices.

Can't wait to move away from AXA when I change vehicle. The only reason I'm stuck with them is that nobody else would insure a banger.

I would never ask for a discount from a taxi driver, even before I became one myself.

I was in my local axa branch a few years ago, was talking to one of their employees, he said the price they give is a fair price but people think if they come in an shout at us we can reduce the price but we can't.
I was dealing with the boss when I overheard the first AXA employee dealing with another customer, yer man says the renewal is 1000 but I paid 700 last year, the axa guy reduced the price to 750. rofl
