Drug users will be given health warnings instead of being prosecuted under new government plans.
The Gardaí and the HSE are going to set up a new IT system so that people caught in possession of small amounts of drugs can be referred to a health practitioner.
Big Dommo cannot get an appointment for his aunt Judy who is 142 years of age but Junkies will be waiting in the waiting room when she arrives .I am certain Dr Sajeed telling young thug with tattoos that banging brown up his arm is medically not advised is going to make him detox .WE need a revolution .

There's little or no sanction at present. Open dealing is commonplace up above in Dublin these days, often under the noses of Gardai.

Sure wasn't there a few of them involved in it.

Why involve overworked Doctors .Just change the law drug use is legal while selling it is not .If thats logical ?

If you work in the Dept of Health/HSE where your job is to, you know, encourage people to be healthy and not die, what's the alternative? Locking them up at a cost of over €60,000 a year isn't working. If they have to visit a GP once or twice a year, they might catch the junkie at the right time (turning 30, kid's communion, etc etc) and the GP (as a neutral) would know where to send them & what drugs to give them...
Probably better to target them when they're 10 or 12 and stop them getting into drugs in the first place.

A dad-of-five who went for a drink last Sunday was bitten by a dog, suffered two black eyes due to his drunken behaviour, and then lashed out at officers when they tried to arrest him, a court heard.
Joseph Lawrence (29) was wearing only a pair of shorts when gardaí found him hiding under a trampoline in a back garden.
Judge Dermot Dempsey fined Lawrence €150 and imposed a six-month sentence, suspended for two years.
The defendant, of Gardiner’s Hill in Balbriggan, admitted trespass and obstruction at Hampton Woods in Balbriggan on June 18. Garda Oisin Finnegan told Swords District Court that gardaí came across Lawrence at Castle Mills Shopping Centre. He ran off, and was followed by gardaí through Baron’s Hall estate.
Gda Finnegan said Lawrence went into Hampton Woods, where he jumped over fences into the rear of a property.
Gardaí checked back gardens and found Lawrence hiding under a trampoline.
Gardaí tried to handcuff Lawrence, but he lashed out. He was restrained on the ground and handcuffed.
Gda Finnegan said the homeowner was terrified when she found out someone had been on her property.
Defence solicitor Fiona D’Arcy said Lawrence went drinking last Sunday, and could not remember anything about his behaviour.
Ms D’Arcy said Lawrence, had been bitten by a dog, and was in considerable pain after he suffered two black eyes, which were due to his own drunken behaviour.
Ms D’Arcy asked the judge to be lenient, saying Lawrence “did not usually do this”.
Obviously doesn't wear clothes or condoms, I'm guessing Catholic! 8)

The Herald used to be great for stories like this. 99% of people can go out for a drink and then go home peacefully. But that 1%... I think it's more than alcohol or drugs, maybe some sort of temporary insanity. They usually end up outside the Ex's house, topless, trying to smash the windows of the house or car with a bin. And by the time it gets to court, they say they can't remember anything but they're sorry anyways!

So did the dog give him the two black eyes aswell?

Would it be offensive or inclusive to alter the acronym from LBGTQI+ to LBGTQI+Normal? 8)

I think we all know what the citizens forum is going to decide i.e. decriminalisation... so the Kinahans & Co continue to prosper and there's no quality control or taxation on produce.
