Migrants? as RC would ask.
Four Muslim men living in direct provision on Clonliffe Road, possibly cross-care.https://maps.app.goo.gl/HLvEVbDvDLPbuVJ98
All newly licenced Dublin City Taxi Drivers:
(https://i.postimg.cc/zf5v0WFg/Muzzie-cabs.jpg) (https://postimg.cc/18Cyz8Tm)
Renting Taxis from:
24466: Dublin Automotive Services Kilbarrack.
34739: Shane Brennan.
19138: Intercity Cabs(NOEL EBBS).
20966: Timothy Murphy.
Don't complain if there's no work. Ireland takes people who have virtually just arrived, and own a smartphone, and gives them accommodation, money the wherewithal to acquire a taxi licence, back-to-work scheme allowance, cash, and tax-free status for at least four years.

Be careful what you read on
the internet facebook/whatsapp! There's a lot of misinformation/propaganda floating around, esp from the right-whingers. Funny how they're calling them Muslims instead of what country they're from? For all we know, they could be homeless Irish Catholics with dark skin (assuming they are homeless & Catholic).
Driver licence expiry dates are: Feb 2027, Feb 2028, Aug 2028 and March 2029. If it is organised, they're coming in ones and twos? And why are all they using different rental companies? Of course, that could be part of the plan to hide their plan ::fds

Might be of interest to the Gardaí...oh wait, he's vetted.
Ooh, Arr!!

Is Abdiraham Abdi Ali (2008 Garda notice) the same guy as Abdiraham Ali (2024 taxi driver)?
In any event, that's from 2008 & doesn't justify putting his details on the internet in 2024 just because the Gardai can't keep their records up-to-date if it is the same guy.

I don't know if it is the same man, but they have almost the same name. If it helps, they're all Somali. I said they were Muslim as an educated guess.
Similar names came up when reading about piracy, but that could be mere conjecture.
Think about it. Just before you arrive in Ireland you just happen to lose all of your documentation (but not your smartphone, which is wiped of any incriminating evidence, if any).
You apply for a new set of E.U., documents citing persecution from, let's say - Somalia.
The Irish government issues you with papers after being thoroughly vetted by An Garda Síochana,
An Garda Síochana contacts the "authorities" in what passes for government in the lawless state of Somalia and gives you the all-clear.
You are then trained by, let's say Freenow/Uber or somesuch to become a taxi driver, so they can gouge commission:

The government pays you, who has never worked in Ireland, or the E.U. BACK TO WORK ENTERPRISE ALLOWANCE money for the next FOUR years.
The "private" sector rents you a cab and insurance for the industry average of €360 a week.
As RC might say:
Migrant/s? Who wouldn't want to be one?
-
Don't get me wrong - you're probably right. It just bugs me a bit when I hear 'I heard it on FB' or variations of 'all dem foreigners are rapists.' I have to keep my mouth shut in the taxi but not here ;D ;D ;D
The government pays you, who has never worked in Ireland, or the E.U. BACK TO WORK ENTERPRISE ALLOWANCE money for the next FOUR years.
I think the Govt was quite clever here. They've funnelled a lot of (economic) migrants down the self-employed route (taxis) so they can't get ALL the SW benefits that locals get. They give them money for a few years vs giving them the dole etc etc etc for the rest of their lives.

The majority of drivers who got their licence from the IRA guy/ and his co-defendant from the carriage office in Ballymun and were caught were eventually put on the BTWEA scheme.

The internet is full of gullible folk, Watty. We had a poster on here a few years ago who was going to post a copy of a cheque given to an immigrant to buy a new car and taxi plate by some Govt agency/dept or other...strangely enough that never materialised but it musta been true 'cos he read about it on the internet... although, I think it was the same contributor who posted the infamous fake picture of the poof who got a dig in the Spar shop in Blanchardstown a couple of years back.
SB has always had something against BTWEA so that's an obvious key for anyone wanting to wind him up. While it's highly unlikely that any of the drivers mentioned in this thread qualified for BTWEA, I don't understand why anyone has an issue with it. The vast majority of drivers who came into the trade after 1991 got it and a significant percentage of those signed on for 6 months while driving cabs to qualify for it!
Similarly, we're told the drivers in question "possibly" live somewhere or other. Why has no-one bought their addresses from NTA, it's not expensive... or maybe they did and it didn't suit the narrative.
One would have thought being Muslims would be an advantage for prospective taxi drivers given that there's a perceived shortage of taxis at pub closing times.
I guess it's also noteworthy that despite domestic recruitment campaigns run by NTA and far reaching international recruitment and training programmes run by Free Now clients must still pay surge fees of up to €20 to hire taxis at "peak" times. This isn't just at pub closing times, I've been offered such "Priority Taxi" jobs via Free Now throughout Saturday / Sunday afternoons / evenings in January and February. How much will the surcharge be by December?
I guess if we want a level playing field the obvious answer would be for Govt to end the temporary moratorium on the issue of saloon plates, making the millions of euros of subsidies given to us by them mean and nasty Greens available to all (prospective) participants... Be careful what you wish for!
