I feel for the guy. Firstly, re-install the COVID shield in the van, then get cameras.
27 years ago when I started, the driver could key the mike and the base would know you were in trouble.
Within minutes you were surrounded by fellow drivers.
Nowadays you're on your own, even with several Apps and pointless panic buttons. Other drivers are more interested in the next fiver.

“People are only looking at it from the point of view of the drunk guy on the street who wants to get home. If town is a perfect place you have to ask yourself why there are two or three bouncers at almost every pub door. They have a bouncer to throw you out of the bar and we are meant to pick you up.”

in fairness I dont think everyone is actually thrown out of a pub, they walk out, they arent thrown out into the road and are only there to stop fighting.
