I guess you can't win them all!
Top jockey Frankie Dettori files for bankruptcy (https://www.independent.ie/world-news/britain/top-jockey-frankie-dettori-files-for-bankruptcy/a881680865.html)
Racing legend Frankie Dettori has filed for bankruptcy, he said in a shock statement this afternoon. The jockey (54) said he had failed in efforts to resolve a dispute with the British taxman, HMRC. “For the last six months, my advisors have been working with HMRC in an attempt to find a solution to my financial situation. Regretfully, I will be filing for bankruptcy,” Mr Dettori said.
Yet another rich person loses their fortune to their accountant. Thank fuk I'm not rich :P

So many Irish businessmen set up shop in the UK to offset their bankruptcy. 12 months in the UK, and 12 years here IIRC.
A prime example would be FG politician Ivan Yates.
Bent accountant Bernard McNamara is another... allegedly.
Re-hired by Denis O' Brien to oversee a build on the Green.

There's no way he's really broke, rich man's bankruptcy ....loads stashed all over the world I'd say and because he owes the Brits a few quid he folds

Hardly his accountant's fault he didn't pay tax, Watty... unless his accountant is also his cocaine supplier? In fact, his accountant may well be saving him a large fortune by advising him to file for bankruptcy... and he may well be able to ride in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland again when the paperwork is done?
In Lester Piggott's day they'd do a bit of porridge to wipe the slate clean.

“A few years ago, I employed the services of professional specialist tax advisers to look after mine and my family’s financial affairs,” Dettori said in the statement. “A structure was created and I was told that it had been approved by HMRC. “Years later HMRC is now challenging that structure. My former advisers have since been dismissed.”
Dettori added that his new advisers and management team “are also working closely with HMRC to resolve the matter as swiftly as possible.”
His old accountants put him on the wrong side of the avoid/evade line.

The meeting had been postponed from a previous date and Dettori had already agreed to appear for about 3K,when the meeting was rearranged the little grease ball was on his farewell lap of honour and upped his price to 15K,two fingers were shown to him.

This might explain the arrogance:
