I done my first ever Zone 18 pick up this morning for Uber. As most of you probably know I'm no fan of paying DAA to supplement DAAs refusal to issue permits. Shooting ourselves in the foot is an understatement. Anyway, over a couple of short shifts last week I got follow up offers from Uber at DAP which I had to decline as I had no permit... so after a few jars celebrating Balbriggan's big win on Sunday I gave them the tenner for a poxy permit. Then this morning my first job was to DAP and hey presto a follow up job was offered so I took it. Note, it was an instant offer, I didn't join any queue and I have no intention of ever queueing up with the down syndrome halfwits who spend their entire day paying DAA to accommodate DAA in refusing them proper permits.
Anywaysanall, here's the rub... on top of the tenner I gave DAA on Sunday I had to give them another €3 to get out of zone 18... if that's not bad enough on writing up my cash book I discovered that Uber only allowed me €1.50 of the €3 commission and VAT free. Why? I was in Zone 18 for less than 4 minutes...

Just add 3Euro to the fare,it's the customers expense as they want to skip the taxi que.
-
Add it yes
I didn't pay that tenner yet
Where do I do that ? I still get offers
Most offers just as you leaving t2 at zone 18 the system picks u up as nearest driver

Uber still haven't updated the new increased price from 1.50 to 3.00 on their system.

Yeah, that's the issue, they're charging commission on half the DAA toll. Hence drivers are paying an extra 18c + VAT on every fare.
TBH, I thought you were allowed 10-15 mins Free in DAA carparks... presumably to cover instances where you can't find a space?
Some of us are old enough to remember when we got up to an hour Free in a prime reserved area - now the disabled slot in the T1 short term carpark. After the great strike of '99 we were moved to the roof and it was all downhill from there!

Unfortunately the DAA charge even if you're only passing through.Dont be in there more than 20 mins or you'll be charged extra on top of the €3.00 on exit.
-
That's a bit mean. Tough on drivers working DAP for Free Now... They're not allowed charge their clients either the toll or PUC so they're at least €6.00 out of pocket before paying commission on what they actually get paid. Still, I guess there's no shortage of the morons queuing up to hand over their hard earned.... sand to Arabs?
