Post by: john m on October 09, 2017, 09:54:45 am
Smokes going up .Carbon tax going up so we pay more for petrol ,diesel, gas ,electricity .but the biggie isint even in the budget but its waiting in the long grass for after the General election .Property Tax .I valued my gaff at 120K for the original property tax as that was all it was worth a house on my road last week sold for 220K so my property tax now goes into the next bracket .Throw in a sugar tax which will apply to all food and drink that has added sugar .Pascal has just dipped your pocket for about 30 yoyos a week .

Johnny Brutal, the EU mouthpiece wants them to allow Britain 6 more yrs to prepare for Brexit. Brexit won't happen, Mr M. I'd say Trichet and the rest of his altar-boys are far more concerned with Catalonia and implosion.

Meanwhile we have Irish Satanists going around defacing statues of Our Lady in the countryside. Where will it all end, begorrah?

Lip Brexit will happen the Brits still have a superiority complex as in the prefix GREAT  Britain ,They do not understand that like ourselves they are just clinkers hanging off of Europe and dependent on being yes men to survive .They think they won the war but look at the winners since ww2  The richest economies .Japan ,Germany and the ones with the largest debt USA,England,France ,.I was talking to brits who voted to leave when I was on holiday they live in the Canaries but never thought that if they are outside the EU will they be able to use Spanish hospitals will they be able to claim non contributory pensions especially women if they are no longer resident in the EU will they need a resedentia and visas to live or work in Spain .Most of them thought all that would happen if they go for Brexit is a change in paperwork .

In Ireland if there is a land border then SF whos political aim is a united Ireland will go back on a millitary path but this time just like 1922 the enemy will once again be FG who they will see as having abandoned the North once again just like they did in before .Dont think Leo has the balls to put a stop to the Brexit talks going any further until that issue is sorted in line with the Good Friday agreement .The only way is for the Brits to leave the North and that wont happen as long as May needs the DUP .

The wind that shook the barley might once again blow in Ireland .I wouldnt be surprised to see a few civil wars breaking out in Europe .Spain is on the brink and we are getting close .Italy is divided the wealthy north are fed up feeding the imigrant ridden south and the AfD in Germany will go from strength to strength and Saxony or Bavaria might look to break away from the rest of the new arab republic of Germany .

BREXIT can be looked at in historical terms once again Britain will not appease the Germans .Before Im in a varnished box Europe will be at war with itself .

The Rat taking a weeks holiday in Mayo or Leitrim wont change any of that .

It won't John. not even the charlatans claiming to be in favour of "leave" were. The blade was actually a "remainer" who just saw an opportunity to thrust himself into power. Here's a clip from the Independent.co.uk outlining how another general election will put the brakes on it via a new referendum.

If there is a general election and Labour get in (strange as it may be) maybe with SNP and Lib Dem support, they will not want to apply to leave the EU formally without going back to Brussels for a deal. Indeed they would be quite desperate to do so and would claim the general election result gave them a mandate for that. We’d almost certainly have a second referendum then, and probably a narrow Remain win.

We all know that if there was a referendum on holding a second referendum, the people would be in favour of having another vote. It is certainly the general view in Parliament, and of course we now have the Scottish and Irish dimensions to the problem now crystallising, as well as economic realities. People want to think again, and the politicians have a duty to let them.

Quote
Electric company car drivers are to get a tax break in order to incentivise the take-up in non-fossil fuelled cars.  Minister for Finance Paschal Donohoe is introducing a 0% rate of benefit in kind (BIK) for such vehicles, for a period of one year to allow for a ‘comprehensive review’ of the sector before next year’s budget. <snip>

No mention of taxis?  A missed opportunity?

In the 2016 NTA industry review (PDF) (https://fe49d9ec8511d2dc0553-f8f415f79bf5d37d632aa2f721fb6d7c.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/Taxi_Statistics_for_Ireland_Statistical_Bulletin_No_1_2016.pdf), ~50% of taxis were over 8 years old and ~80% were over 5 years old.  The 9/10/15 year rule is gonna start kicking in soon and many might buy shitheaps instead of shiny new electric/hybrids if there is no incentive in place to go 'green'.

That's (https://www.nationaltransport.ie/taxi-and-bus-licensing/taxi/taxi-statistics/active-vehicle-licences/) 20.5k PSV's nationally (incl 10.5k Dublin PSV's) driving around spewing nasty chemicals into the air!

This was an election budget so they wont tell you they are going to shaft you .I bet there is a line in the budget speech that says something like .The minister will review our commitment to our agreement with the european environmental protection agency .Which is code for more increases in carbon tax are on the way because europe made us do it .

Nice one, no increase in duty on diesel. Making electric cars BIK free is a good idea. They should do that in the UK, I borrowed a couple of company cars when I was grafting over there a few years back. Chelsea Tractors with luxury saloon cabins and flat beds (generally covered) were/are the company car of choice for execs with no budgetary constraints as they qualify as commercial vehicles. A suitably luxurious electric yoke that's easier to park and looks like a car might well catch on. I guess there could be something in it for taxis as blokes neglect to charge them?

Totally. April after the election we'll see the real FG.

No Carbon tax increase either, so no increase in gas/electricity prices. I knew it mightn't be as bad as you thought it might be, erm.

Most commentators seem to agree that it is a "cup of coffee" budget. There was no pre-election style giveaway, just a break from austerity with most of us able to afford an extra cup of coffee per week - or a tin of Coca Cola per day until sugar tax is introduced on the mainland. A clever budget from Fine Gael's perspective as it furthers Leo's reputation as a safe pair of hands and gives the (lack of) opposition little to get het up about.

Councillors appearing all over local radio stations jabbering on about the real budget yet to be declared. There's an election looming alright but not this side of Hanukkah.

A minority Govt can't be radical. Leo manipulated the budget process to be about Leo. Our society is largely a progressive one within which his popularity will increase as a result. Setting the stage for Agriculture to resolve minor stamp duty issues for farmers is a clever deflection. The farming community is typically based around rural backwaters that aren't going to embrace a homosexual immigrant so they need a bit of special attention to ensure they stay within the Fine Gael fold. I guess it's easy to predict the fall of a minority Govt as they never go full term but one would have to speculate that this week's Govt is more stable than last week's, probably.

The farming community couldn't care less if Shakin' Stevens was in charge so long as they keep getting their EU subvention, Rats. In fact, most probably a good 12.5% of them are gay themselves or speak with the same clipped, sarcastic tone of pained superiority as Leo at I.F.A. conventions after a few Tequila Slurryrises.

Not to mention, the number of Paschals amongst their membership...wink, wink,,,ya know yerself, hoss.

Paschal has established himself as Leo's political Bitch. His suit isn't made of leadership material. I don't see such progressive attitudes outside of the big smoke. Even in Fingal, which is technically part of Dublin, a lot of folk find both immigrants and homosexuals repulsive and they don't mind saying so. Many wouldn't even contemplate getting into a taxi driven by an immigrant never mind vote for a poof!

Ah well, at least you don't cut people off at the knees for being piss-takers or shit-stirrers. How is Roy anyway? Being limited to 80 characters was very wearying for a verbose and pedantic cunt like meself over on Roy's, especially seeing as how I'm not well versed in text-speak and acronyms.

Pascal is French for Easter so maybe Leo is telling us something. I'll leave it to the people of Fingal to vote as they see fit either way. Best spuds in Ireland grown out that way.
