I've a bad feeling about this tie, I don't like playing Scandinavian teams, they seem to be very
meticulous in detail about everything, every pass, every corner kick, Etc, has been practised
100 times in training every week and they play to the absolute letter of the law.
Rep of Ireland are more of a 'Crash, Bang, Whollop' type of side and always have been.
If we can come out of the First leg in Denmark just a single goal behind then I'll be happy
to bring the tie home to Lansdowne road.
First leg 90 Minute betting; About, 4/5 Denmark, 9/4 Draw, 3/1 Ireland.

Betting to Qualify; About, 4/6 Denmark, 11/10 Ireland.

Not been a soccerball fan I can honesty say that the Irish team don't deserve to be in any competition as from what I can see they are pure gick,
The fans are even worser, fukking Eejits dressed up in green white and orange singing you'll never beat the Irish after getting knocked out of the last competition....come on ffs

Irish soccer fans awarded City of Paris medal for their behaviour during Euro 2016.

"IRISH SOCCER FANS have been awarded the Vermilion medal of the City of Paris for their behaviour during the Euro 2016 tournament.
The Mayor of Paris presented the award to Irish fan Jamie Monaghan from Louth at a ceremony at the Fanzone in Paris this evening.
Announcing that Ireland was to receive the award last week, Mayor Anne Hidalgo told reporters that the Irish supporters deserved the honour after displaying “exemplary sportsmanship” and for the “good atmosphere” they generated.
Today the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, Shane Ross, said:
It is an incredible achievement by Irish fans to be recognised at an international level as some of the main contributors to the fantastic atmosphere evident in Paris, Bordeaux, Lille and all French cities in which they made their presence felt.
“The Vermilion medal is one of the most prestigious honours of the City of Paris, and to have representatives of our country behave in such a sportsmanlike manner as to be awarded this medal is such a proud moment for us all.”

At aged 50 'n a bit, that seems fair comment, but fer the younger generation it's all
about de Craic.
I'm very proud to be able to say that I was part of "Jackie's Green army" back in the
Nineties and by God did we enjoy our Away trips !
Cities like Riga, Vilnius, Poznan, Boston, Washington, Etc, Etc welcomed us with open arms.

Kinda proves my point

From chatting with soccer enthusiasts in my taxi (not to be confused with mytaxi) last night it seems that the contest is between two non football (soccer) playing nations hoping to progress to a competition to prove that they can't compete.
-
Jasper Schmeichel (Denmark goalie) seems to be the 'Fly in the ointment' at the moment.
Hopefully he can do us a Solid tomorrow night and make a bollocks of himself, just like his
auld fella did once upon a time many years back which saw us qualify fer the 1994 world cup.
It was Peter Schmeichel who fluffed a high ball coming in, allowing a goal to Spain to win 1-0
which was enough fer us to qualify in the group as we only managed a draw with the Nordies
on the same night in November 1993. If the Danes and Spaniards had played out a 0-0 draw,
(which was their intention) then both of them would have qualified.
-
The poor old Nordies seem to have being Robbed in their tie with Switzerland.
Have a look at the Penalty incident, (it's at about 1.20 in the utube video).

Very Harsh !
-
Terrible. The competition proper has been robbed of another non football (soccer) "nation". How will it survive?

The cost of that goal was that Rep of Ireland and Denmark finished on the same amount of points
in the group, and also the same goal difference, but Rep of Ireland went through to the USA finals
because they had scored more goals in the group. Denmark did not qualify.
-
Fer me Peter Schmeichel was the best goalkeeper that I ever watched, but he had his 'Achilles Heel',
and that was the high floating ball, as shown in the above utube video.
If it goes to a penalty shoot-out tonight, then Jasper will be hard to beat.
Jasper was instrumental in Leicester city's surprise Premier league win.
-
yes I reckon peter schmeichel and buffon were the best goalies I've seen.
but schmeichel was known for acting the cunt at times while buffon is a consummate gentleman.
Shame for buffon. He was gonna retire after the 2018 world cup. the cunts did'nt make it though.
-
Jasper did his bit and came out Fluffing at the high ball to give ROI the lead.
First rule of goal-keeping; If'n ya come fer a ball, make fookin sure ya get it !
-
Fair result according to the soccer enthusiasts. Saves "us" from embarrassing ourselves in the competition proper.
-
That's a bit harsh Rats !
We had some right good results in major competition finals over the years.
1988 Beat England.
1990 Beat Romania.
1994 Beat Italy.
2016 Beat Italy.

we've too many of these chutney ferrets with their fancy little beards and displaying they're intricate tattoos.
you don't want to be drawing attention to yourself when you're not producing the goods.
shane long strolling around the kip chewing chewing gum and he can't score in a gay bar. brutal.
